Vistana question

We're going 8/5 (Friday) - 8/19 (Friday), with 8 person occupancy (I assume this is a two bedroom lockout). Am I wrong to assume this. I won them on skyauction. I love that site. Any idea which part I'd be in. If it is a lock out there are only two sections listed on their site. Thanks in advance.

I believe the only units with lockouts are Lakes and Cascades. Why do you think this is a lockout? Did the website confirm that to you? The regular two bedroom units also sleep 8. The master bdrm has a king bed, the 2nd bdrm has two queen beds and the sleeper sofa is a double. Lakes and Cascades are both the newer units and are beautiful. You should be very happy in either.

We won a bid on Sky Auction for Vistana Resort, and we were there this past Feb. We did not have a lockout. We were scheduled for the spas section, but I filled out the Diamond lane check-in and requested cascades or lakes. We were lucky enough to get Lakes. We had a great week, actually we were so busy with the grandkids at Disney we only used the pools. Have a great week.

Talickai is correct.....the only lockouts are Lakes/Cascades. There are no guarantees you will get either of these two sections but you can always request them. Keep in mind, you're going during the busy summer season and probably many Lakes/Cascades owners will be booked. I'm booked in the Fountains myself for this same time period. But anything can happen. Have a nice trip !

Wow, they can tell you this far in advance where you will be? If one has a reservation that sleeps 8, does that guaranttee they won't get the Courts section? [Hoping it only sleeps 6.] Thanks.

The only way I know of finding out where you'll be for sure that far in advance is if that person paid Vistana directly (or went through a travel agent) for the reservation or they are staying on an owner's week ?
The only way to guarantee not to get the Courts is to not check-in on Saturday. Otherwise, the Courts can sleep up to 12 actually.

I called today to find out where we would be. A friend of my husband gave us a certificate for one week's stay at any RCI unit. Of course, I chose to go to Orlando, and after seeing maps that showed how close to the parks we would be, I chose Vistana. I was just trying to make sure I would be in a building with an elevator. And I will be!!! Yeah! After marching all over the parks during the day, I sure didn't feel like climbing up stairs!

I am so looking forward to this trip. I didn't think I'd be going this year. But how can ya turn down a FREE stay??!!!! More money left to spend in the parks and restaurants! LOL

I am thinking of also bidding for the same period at sheraton vistana resorts. How my did you end up paying for a week? Also, do you know if you can check out a day or two earlier. I am so afraid of bidding, because the price seems to good to be true. We are now booked for $100.00 a night. Do you know if you have to change your date if it is possible.

RCI will send a reservation request with a specific section (and sometimes unit), but Vistana still reserves the right to change that. Make sure you back up this request with a Diamond Lane form 3-4 days prior to check-in. I'm assuming your friends had a banked week or something similar because that has to go through RCI ? Or perhaps they purchased one of RCI's promo get-a-ways ?

The "sleep 8" doesn't necessarily mean it's a new section, only that it's a 2 bedroom villa. Only the Falls section is a "sleeps 6" and the one bedroom lock-outs are "sleep 4". When is your check-in date ? I'll be very suprised if it's more than 60 days out, because then they're taking the newer sections that people own and giving it to bidders on skyauction ? Technically, as owners, we have until 60 days prior to make ressies at our "home" resort. We can make them at less than 60 days also, but we risk not getting anything because they open that inventory to general public. Perhaps these skyauction bids are on the builders percentage of what they own ? I know with DVC, Disney reserves a certain amount (is it 2%) to set aside for cash ressies.

We had a 2 bedroom unit that slept 8 end of Feb / beginning of MArch. We were in the Spas section and loved it. It may have been an older unit, but it was clean, comfy & off the beaten path! Would highly recommend this resort.

I recieved a Guest Certificate from RCI . It had our friend's name on it listed as "A very special gift from:_____" For guests: Jerry Pilet.

It only shows our check -in and check-out dates, 2 bedroom unit, no #, and this was dated 12/13/04. I called 1-800-VISTANA and spoke to a rep. I told him I would loike to be in a bldg. with an elevator and he checked for my info and told me I would be in Lakes. He also signed me up with the Diamond Lane check in and told me I would have no problems. We are due to arrive 5/22/05. I will call them a few days before we leave just to confirm that I am in the Lakes section.

The more I read about this resort, the more I a looking forward to staying there. I love staying onsite at Disney, but the prices are just getting ridiculous.

Maybe someone who is an RCI Member can confirm what this is. I haven't been one for several years now and not exactly familiar with what this is. Where do your friends own their timeshare ?
Also, I noted you're checking in on May 22, so that is in the ballpark of 60 days out. Probably another reason they could confirm an exact location.

What is Vistana going for on Skyauction these days? I have no idea what's a good price! I know they don't show up on www.afvclub.com anymore, if they have, I've surely missed it!
