I booked a villa here for June and have found very little info about it on message boards. I hope I haven't made a mistake. It looks and sounds like a great area but I'm concerned since no one talks about it. Maybe no news is good news. It's funny tho, it's not even listed on the map of all the resort developments that I found in a post on this site. Tons of developments on the map, but no Vista Park. What's up??????? :sad2:

It's new, and still fairly small..and we stayed there a year ago...loved it:)

Their phase 1 was 20 homes, or so...phase 2 is now complete (at least it looked that way to us when we drove through 2 weeks ago)...

We rented a five bedroom...it's just one mile from the 192/27 junction...just by Palms at Lake Davenport, and a brand new development Tuscan Hills (not to be confused with Tuscan Ridge)

It's gated at night, you'll get a car window tag at check in to get you in and out, and the guard will just wave you in and out after seeing the tag...during the day, the gate is open:)

If you check in after the office closes, the guard will check you in, no problem:)

Mgmt staff, Derek, and Bob (you guessed it;) ) "The Builder", are great...Joannie works at the front desk, and she's wonderful:)

Plans are in the works for a community clubhouse, not sure if that's open yet or not..

Anything else I can help you with, let me know:)

Thanks so much for your reply. I'm relieved! Do I understand this correctly...the homes are completely furnished and maintained by management? Does this mean that they are all in the same "new" condition? No "surprises" when we get there like the pictures are better than the home, dirty carpet/furniture, worn linens, rusted patio furniture etc.?

Thanks for any info you can offer. This is our first time renting a home and it would put a real damper on our trip if it turns out to be a bad one. We aren't just sleeping there. I hope to spend a reasonable amount of downtime there, spreading out, enjoying the pool, making dinner and big breakfasts on the days we're not at Disney.

When an owner purchases a home in VP, they - like every other development, I'm sure - have different furniture packs to chose from..VP has some of the nicest ones we've seen..little more upscale, ie, 4 poster beds and the like:)

Mgmt is directly onsite to help with anything an owner or renter has problems with....and maintenance is too. We had some problems with the garage door opener jamming on us, and the maintenance men were always there in a few minutes after we called the office. (During the day anyway:) The night guard would be our next stop if we had had problems at night...but we never did)

I'm thinking you booked through the OV family of websites (I saw your post over there:) )

If it's one of those owner posted homes, you won't have any problems with it being any different than the pictures:)

...and that's why we chose VPResort..we had a large family gathering, and we wanted a large house - at a reasonable price - that felt really lovely, not "lumpy"..my mother's description;)

And that's what we found:)

Double check with your homeowner about pool and spa heat - if you're getting it, and have a spa as an option....if additional spa heat is important to you, you may need to verify that it can get hotter than the pool itself, and isn't just a jetted pool temp/tub:)

Oh, and one other thing...the villas at VP (the one we were in anyway ) has this thing called "endless hot water"..meaing no hot water tank. If your villa has this, and you're filling the garden tub in the master, don't turn the taps on full..just turn them to 1/2 to 3/4 power..if you turn them on full, you won't get hot water, it'll just be lukewarm (the water is running too fast through the heating grid to get really hot) Turning the power back a little allows the water to go through the grid slower, thus getting hotter:)

The showers are fine:)...and sorry for being so long winded!!:teeth:

HTH!

I appreciate you being long winded! The longer the better. :thumbsup2
