We will be checking in at ASMo on Monday for a 1 night stay before heading to SSR. My sister and brother in law are local in Florida and might want to come visit us at ASMo Monday night. Will this be an issue since they don't have a reservation? Is there time limit they can stay? We may head to Disney Springs for the evening and just want to make sure their car won't be towed away!

Not a problem. This Feb we stayed CBR and family stayed at Poly and we were at Poly half the trip.

I asked about having guests at SSR and was told it was at the discretion of the front desk. Our friends would be driving us to SSR then parking at the resort for a half day or so; they said the only way to guarantee it would be to add them to the reservation.

Never heard that before. We use to live in the Orlando area so we have had friends stop by our resort a few times and it has never been an issue nor did they have to be added to our reservation.

The person you spoke to was misinformed. The resorts are open to the public, and non-guests are coming and going all day to visit guests, dine, shop, walk around, use the spa, and use recreational facilities. SSR is the size of a subdivision, the front desk CMs don't know or care who's on the grounds.

Your friends may be asked for a photo ID when they pull up to the guard shack, but they'll then be waved right through.

If they are just using the food court/shared open spaces or hanging in your room then it shoulde be no issue. Now if you are swimming technically the pools are for resort guests only so it is up to the lifeguard if non-resort guests swim. Also you aren't suppose to leave your car in the parking lot if you aren't staying there but if you don't have a car then you could always say it is your car if it is an issue. Really the only way place I've ever seen parking issues is monorail and Epcot resorts.

What I would suggest is to call your friends after you have checked in so when they arrive at All Stars, they can tell the gate guard they are on their way to see the "Street Family" at the Movies in room XXXX. Then the guard can give your friends whatever is needed for them to stay and be welcome. They may have to park in the check in area but all should be good with no problems.
