Visitor Toll Pass for Central Florida Tolls

This is awesome. My parents have an ePass because they go to Florida each winter. I borrowed that on my last trip to the keys and saved quite a bit over the daily fee for rental car tolls (and paying the cash rate the rental car company charges). This looks like a really cool program for visitors to the area.

Here is the link so you don't have to search to find it - Visitor Toll Pass - Welcome or https://visitortollpass.com/

It is interesting that it only works for the Orlando airport (probably because that is where you pick up the pass). I wonder if I can pick up my pass even though I am not renting at MCO (using disney transportation to the resort), but manually put in my car info for my one way to port canaveral and then again for my one way from port canaveral back to MCO.

Edited to add I am surprised there isn't a link form the Sunpass web site.

Years ago I got a SunPass transponder for our visits to Florida. I just reload it each time before we go.

Nice that they now have a visitor system.

Yeah the sunpass transponder sticker is $5 and you can buy it any Publix - you just stick it on your windshield and get a bill for all your usage in x period of time .... How is that one different from a visitor pass?

Doesn't look like it. From today's e-mail from the Central Florida Expressway Authority (which is separate from the Turnpike Authority [=SunPass], to answer your edit question):

If you have friends and family flying into Orlando International Airport for a visit, make sure to tell them about Visitor Toll Pass! The smart alternative to costly rental car toll programs, Visitor Toll Pass is a FREE temporary toll pass for rental car customers traveling roundtrip through Orlando International Airport. With Visitor Toll Pass, you always pay the lowest toll rate throughout Florida with no hidden or extra fees. Travelers can reserve a Visitor Toll Pass using the app, now available for Android and iPhone.

The Visitor Toll Pass is for rental cars, where the sticker isn't feasible. (I mean, yeah, you can put the sticker on, but then you'd have to remove it.)

I forget that there are 2 different toll authorities in Florida, and was mixing them up. Thanks for clarifying them.

It looks like I am going to just bring my Ipass this time anyway, but I am traveling round trip through the Orlando International Airport. The steps in the app showed I could get a pass and add my rental car manually even though I wasn't taking a car from MCO. What I wouldn't get is the automatic rental car plate registration by driving out of the airport in the rental car with the tag on the mirror.

This is going to hit the rental car companies a little bit on the bottom line. I think the Avis toll fee just to be able to use toll roads was $6/day up to $30.

You have to be able to get the sticker and it is $5 (greater than free). If you use any toll roads to get to Publix from the airport, you end up paying the "toll collection" fee for all of your days you rent, even the ones where you have the sticker on. When I went to the keys, I had a 10 day rental and only used tolls for 3 of the days. I would have been charged the max $30 toll fee for my rental with Avis.

That's because it isn't run by Sunpass (Florida DOT). Rather the visitor program is administered by the Central Florida Expressway Authority . If a visitor loses or doesn't return, they end up paying $10 to replace plus the cost of their tolls.

Is this back? I loved using this before the pandemic and so happy if they brought it back - it is wonderful!!!!!
