Visiting WDW on marathon week

Hi! It‘s my first time going to WDW while the marathon is going on!
We‘re not running but I wanted to know if there is anything I should be aware of.
We‘re planning on staying at the hotel on weekend but have plans to go to the parks on 1/6(thursday) and 1/7(friday).

I’ve heard some roads will be closed? (We will have our own car)
And read that the runners also will run in the parks..? Is it better to hit the parks early mornings or later?
Any input and tips are greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Sunday morning you need to pack your patience. Jan 2020 we sat on a Disney bus near the MK for at least 45 minutes not moving.

This time we're planning a Skyliner destination for that morning. We'll see how that works out.

Thank you so much for the fast reply! I‘ve been trying to gather information but got a little overwhelmed on google and Dis board search
I‘ll definitely keep that in mind to have a loooot of patience!

We had a late morning ADR at BOG that day and were pretty late. But so was everyone else. LOL. The staff just rolled with it. Everyone had an expectation that things could be slow going that morning. They were sending push notifications reminding everyone to expect delays.

I hope so too!!! I’m trying to stay positive but I think it is going to be preeetty crowded :/

I just hope we can ride the frozen ride since that‘s my daughters favorite movie!!
