You can always use Disney transportation to get around Walt Disney World. They welcome guests visiting from other resorts. It's just necessary to limit parking at some of the resorts which are located close to theme parks because there are some people who will use the resort lots for free rather than pay to park in the theme park lots.

Disney doesn't even allow their hotel guests to park free - these days. that say you can park at Disney Springs - then take a bus to CR and then ride the Monorail to Polyn, GF - you can take a boat from CR to WL. okay I am cheap. that say will be staying at BLT this Dec - using my DVC points that I brought long ago.

Yes..........you can use all forms of Disney transportation to visit all the resorts.

My in-laws are in their 80’s, so I was just thinking it would lessen the walking and all the travel on the bus & waiting for the bus, making the day shorter.
Unless they are extra high-energy octogenarians, I wonder if they would find it too exhausting to visit seven or eight resorts in the same day, even by car. If I were traveling with people that age, I'd try to narrow it down to the top one or two resorts we want to see each day. To simplify the parking, it would make sense to make a dining reservation at the resort of choice, and then look around that one and (if applicable) one near it.

There are always exceptions though, and if they are unusually energetic for their age group, then they may have the stamina to do more in a day.

In regards to your touring plans, you might want to add the Swan hotel into the mix while you are in the Boardwalk area. They have a display made of chocolate. Not only does it look good, but it smells amazing!!! If you want to reduce some walking time, you can take the boat over there from the Boardwalk or yacht club. :)
