I know that valet parking is free at The Wilderness Lodge for DVC members. I also heard that if you are not staying at the resort, you can only park for 3 hours. How is this regulated? We are planniing to visit the resort, get something to eat there and then maybe take the boat around to do more visiting (but not go to the parks). If we are gone for more than 3 hours, will there be a problem?

Thanks --

You will be issued a 3 hour parking pass. Disney has the right to tow your car after 3 hours. I don't think that I have ever heard of them doing so though.

As long as you are visiting the resort, you should be okay. But if you want to go to the MK, you'll need to move your car to the TTC parking lot. DVC asks that members not use valet parking at the resorts to visit the theme parks.

I've been to WL many times with another resort parking permit and never received a 3 hour pass. You may get more scrutiny if you are staying offsite. The only place I ever received a 3 hour pass is the Poly. I parked at the Contemporary twice last month and didn't get one (but it was late afternoon).

I am hijacking the question...sorry...I am a dvc member and have never valet parked my car. Do you show them your dvc card?

Yes, it's a member perk, not a perk for staying on points at a DVC resort.

We've visited VWL many times and never once been issued a 3 hour parking pass.

AFAIK, they only issue the passes for the monorail resorts and the EPCOT resorts when it's really busy. It's to preserve spaces for guests staying at those resorts. If they didn't do this, the resort lots would be filled with people parking there to go to one of the parks - either to avoid the parking fee or to avoid the crowds at park close. VWL is not an attractive place to park if your destination is the MK. Thus no need to issue temporary parking passes.

The OP should have no problem parking at the VWL during a visit, no matter how long she stays.
