Can you visit the other resorts and swim in the pools. We are thinking of staying at the WL for next trip, but would love to go over and check it out and take a swim. Is this allowed?

I believe that only DVC members have this privilege. Sorry.

PS Don't be offended when someone gets on their soapbox and crucifies you for posting this.:rotfl:

Nope - Not allowed. Resort pools are only for guests of that resort.

POR and POFQ are an exception because they are "sister" resorts. Guests of POR can use the pool at POFQ and vice versa.

You can't use the pool, but you can walk around and get a feel for the place -look in the gift shop; get a meal/snack; rest in the lobby, etc. That's a lot of fun for us.

As a PP said pool hopping is not allowed. There are some exceptions in that POR & POFQ guests can use either resort pool. And DVC members can "hop" to other pools if they are staying on points but even then they can't hop to AKL, BC or YC pools. I believe there is also an exception for the AS resorts but I'm not sure what it is so I won't comment.

Its always easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask permission. :rolleyes1

You know...a question was asked, and it was answered quite nicely I thought. Why in heaven's name would you say that? Are you saying it's okay to swim in another resort pool and then say.."Oh my...silly ole me...why I just didn't know any better. I'm so very sorry...I most certainly will never do such a thing again!!!" Sorry, it's just wrong to encourage others to do what is against posted Disney rules. Each pool has signage stating that the pool is those staying at that particular resort.
Plain and simple. Am I the pool police? No possible way. I own DVC and I can legally pool hop (except at YC/BC and AKL) and I never have...way too much trouble. But I resent it when someone comes along and encourages others to do something against the rules. Hopping on down from my little ole soapbox now.

I originally posted something very much along these lines in this space but Diane said it so much better than I did.

So..

"What she said.."

And on top of that.. this is really a resorts question and as such I've moved this over to the resorts board.

TBH disney doesn't care if people pool hop and neither do most guests.

Count me as a guest that does care. If I'm paying money to stay at a resort, regardless of which one, I don't want to have to be jockeying with guests that aren't staying at that particular resort for a chair, towel or other ammenity that is there for (as the signs say) 'resort guests only'.

It didn't take long for this thread to go downhill. The WDW policy has been posted. There are signs at the resorts stating the policy. It isn't up to the DIS to decide the pool policy. Thank you to those people that helped the OP.
