We are regular visitors to WDW. But, we've never gone during a holiday. Our annual trip is usually the first week of June.

Anyway, we booked Thanksgiving week for next year. We arrive the Saturday before Thanksgiving, leaving the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I would love some insight from those of you who have visited at that time. I know it'll be crowded and to plan accordingly. But, any advice based on your experience is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Happy Holidays to all my friends on the DIS! Wishing you and your families all the best for this holiday season and into the new year!

We did a similar trip this year and had a great time. We also typically travel in the summer, first of June and again last of July.
The only day that was beyond crowded was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving at MK. The rest of the trip our days were not much different than an avg summer day. If you are accustomed to a June trip it will be very similar.
But that one Tuesday, DH said it was the most crowded he'd ever seen at MK

Thanks. I'm expecting similar crowd levels. We can't make our normal June trip next year. And, our DDs have the entire week of Thanksgiving off for the first time. So, I thought it would be the perfect time to try something new, like the MVMCP.

@AngiTN you'vet always been willing to offer your opinion on here. Always helpful. Thank you.

My norm growing up was always the week of Thanksgiving.
Last time I went at that time was 2012.
My parents have gone at that time nearly every year since 1972.
We enjoy going during that week.
Christmas decor is up and crowds aren't really bad in my opinion.

Glad to help.

Just watch the schedules. This year they stopped the MVMCP for Thanksgiving week. We were arrived early Tuesday morning before Thanksgiving and left Monday night after Thanksgiving. The only night they had a party on any of those days was Sunday night (after Thanksgiving). I haven't followed past years well enough to know if that's a typical schedule or not

We are considering this week in 2017 as well. We have APs and I'd like to squeeze in another trip. We are definitely going the first week of February in 2018. With two trips so close together, I think I'm less concerned about crowds. Also, we typically have family visiting for Thanksgiving and already know they won't be coming next year.

Now I just have to convince DH that this is a fantastic idea!

We were also there Thanksgiving week. I definitely had a schedule planned with ADRs and FPs. Yes tues at MK was busy but we still got a ton done before we left at 5ish. One thing I do highly recommend is being at the parks at rope drop. You can get so much done during that first hour or two. Also, don't have in your mind that you are going to get everything done. We were there the Sunday before Thanksgiving through the Sunday after. With the exception of Epcot to use our FEA FP, we didn't go to the parks on Thur or Fri of our trip. Next year we are going the same week. Love seeing all the xmas décor! Really gets you into the xmas spirit!

We have been twice during Thanksgiving Week and haven't found it too bad. Two years ago they had some early openings at some of the parks and late closings at MK. Holidays Around the World and CP start on Black Friday at Epcot. Take time if you can to resort hop to see the deluxe resorts decorations.

Disney does not typically have MVMCP during thanksgiving week. This year there was a party the Friday before Thanksgiving and then there wasn't another until the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

Well, that just sucks! haha

On the bright side, most of the Christmas decorations will be up in the parks and resorts. Don't miss the gingerbread house at the grand floridian. And November beats June in the weather department. You'll love it. We did a June trip once and we're up to 3 trips in November. We've never done Thanksgiving but I'm considering the next trip to be Tuesday to Tuesday, returning home the week of Thanksgiving. This year we did Jersey week and it was crazy at the MK the whole week. MK opened at 8 am 3 or 4 days that week like they do for Thanksgiving with 7am emh too. I'm wondering how similar that week was to Thanksgiving week this year.
