Visiting from a DVC resort.

We will be staying at Animal Kingdom Villas in 2017. Could we bring our golf cart and visit the Fort, parking in the outer parking lot and driving the cart in? This will not be during a holiday or a weekend.

Well, WeCampDisney, this is a first in my book.

We've had plenty of folks post about staying in a different resort and coming to visit the Fort but this is the first I've heard of "BYOC" (Bring Your Own Cart).

I don't see a problem as long as there is room in the overflow lot for you to park and unload the golf cart. It can get crowded there during holidays and weekends but, as you say, you won't be there then.

Thanks guys, I was afraid it might be a no go. We will be staying in a cabin in mid March bringing our cart. I will check it out with management and gate security folks. Later in the year we will be doing our first DVC stay, just bought in. We still love the Fort and it would be cool if we could bring our cart for an evening visit, HDDR etc. We also would like to bring our bikes. I guess I want to have my cake and eat it too. I am about to sell the RV and rent or do cabins when not staying at a DVC resort.

1) If your bikes are hung on your car, you can get the bikes into The Fort and park your car in the overflow lot.
. . . If you are not staying at The Fort in a cabin or at a site, you CANNOT bring in a golf cart.
. . . If staying in a cabin or at a site, you can bring in a golf cart with no problem.
2) But for visitors to The Fort, if it is really busy at The Fort, the guard will not allow anyone past the guard shack that
. . . does not have a dinner ADR (the guard has a printout of all ADR's)
. . . is not checking-in for a stay (the guard has a printout of all arriving guests)
. . . is not visiting a friend who has notified the Front Desk of a visitor
3) Sorry, you can call all you want, but DVC has no special status or privilege at The Fort.
