Visiting DL in late April...will I be missing anything?

DW and I will be visiting DL in late April 2010. This will be our first trip to DL. In know late April is considered to be off-peak. I also know that DL has shorter hours and doesn't run some shows (Fantasmic, fireworks?) during off-peak times.

So, when we go in April, what will we be missing? Will there be shorter park hours? Will any of the shows be canceled? Will Fantastmic still be happening...fireworks?

I usually go during that time & find that the weekends still have the goodies like fantasmic & fireworks.

It's usually shorter hours but weekends stay open longer. They may be refurbishing rides that you like during your stay though. So definitely check out the schedule for that if it's important to you. And...I think that one time the Aladdin show wasn't on during my stay. Also, they may have the food & wine festival going on at dca around that time.

But as long as you have at least a F, Sa, or Sun in your stay, you should be able to get most of it in.

The River will be drained during that time; not scheduled to fill again until end of May. so, Fantasmic is out, canoe rides, Tom Sawyer's island, river boat, etc. I had originally planned to visit at that time also, but I wanted my friends to see Fantasmic, so I switched.

thanks for that info, about fantasmic. It's usually on when I go for my bday. Maybe this year I'll celebrate it belated.

We we get there on a Sunday (late afternoon) and leave on a Friday. What would we likely miss?

There are fireworks shows off-season on (usually) Friday, Saturday and Sunday at DL. DCA has a new nightshow opening April 24 called World of Color that will draw crowds like you have never seen before. There may or may not be an evening parade at DL.
