We will be in the World at the same time a daughter's friend will be working.

We aren't looking for what she can do for us. We have our own room and we have AP's. We would really just like to take her to dinner, or lunch if she is working during dinnertime. Although since our trip is 7 days, I imagine that she would be off at least one dinnertime.

Should we make sure that the dinner is at a resort rather than in a park? If she works at a park, is she only allowed to enter when she is working? Or can she enter without using a ticket, just for dinner? If she is not at a park, but at a resort or DS, I am guessing she needs a ticket to enter a park. Right?

I'm trying to make it as easy as possible for her. She is the type of person to use up a ticket to meet with us, but not tell us that she has to do it. I don't want to her to waste a ticket for dinner. But rather save them for her family.

As a CP she gets [virtually] unlimited free entry into the parks, so that shouldn't be a problem. There are only a few days a year that cast are blocked out from self-admission entry, so you can check with her beforehand to make sure that's not an issue. These days are usually 4th of July (MK) and Christmas week.

If she works for Disney, she has a maingate pass for park admission. Her maingate pass doesn't "use up a ticket".

As mentioned above. Nothing to worry about at all. She can come and go as she pleases

A couple of months prior to going she will be able to tell you if there are any parks she can't get into for free. They usually release the schedule each quarter. They only think I could potentially see happening is if Frozen is too much to handle still they will black out CM entry on weekends to Epcot. They did this for summer weekends to MK when New Fantasyland opened. You could only use the white guest passes that CMs get periodically.

She should have her holiday discount then as well. They are typically given from October - early February. With food purchases as long as the CM is eating anyone can pay and still receive the discount so worth looking through that to see what is available. You usually have to eat early or late though.

We can have dinner where ever she can. And eating early or late works for us, since I have a food allergy.

A discount would be nice. We will have a 10% from the AP's or DVC, but if hers is more, we can use that.

Its also very rare that CMs get blocked out. We were blocked out of MK around Christmas and EPCOT on NYE. It really doesn't happen much. However, they do block out days so we cannot bring our guests. But CMs themselves are not often blocked out. you can check for yourselves on blockoutdates.Disney.com ... You can only go forward a few months on this website but you can go back pretty far. So you can see if the dates you are traveling this year were blocked out last year.
