Val & I are going to be at WDW 3/11-17. If any of you folks are there then we'd love to do an impromptu meet. I'll try to keep my status up to date on FB so you know what park we're in. Or PM me for my cell #.

We're all checked in at OKW. Just unpacking and waiting out the rain. Hope it lets off so we can go somewhere later.

Have a great time Jeff. Keep us posted on your trip. Tell Val we say hello.

I heard the weather was supposed to be pretty severe. You and Val stay safe and have fun. :thumbsup2

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Watch out for the cheerleaders and their moms---they are being taped for one of the ESPN channels this weekend. My niece and her mom are planning to go with their group.

Nasty night out there tonight. We ventured up to Olivia's for dinner and really enjoyed it. Nothing fancy, just good food. Today's special was buttermilk fried chicken. Three of us had that and all agreed it was wonderful. Val's daughter Jamie had the Pork Chop and we all had a taste - that was good too!

Desert was one cheesecake for us to share.

Nice meal and not terribly expensive by Disney standards.

Looks like a rainy day today. We're headed to Epcot this morning. Lunch is at Teppan Edo. After that, who knows?

We'll be in MK on Sunday- OMG the weather is supposed to be gorgeous!!!

Worried about the crowds- we don't like going when the crowd calendar says it will be over 6. Sunday is a 7. Plus I'm thinking the great weather will bring out the Townies. (LOL, I guess it is, I'm going!)

Enjoy your trip!!!!! :thumbsup2

We spent much of today at Epcot. Connor did Kim Possible for a while and it was really fun. Saved some countries for another day.

We ate at Teppan Edo and it was good. The chef was one of the more entertaining ones we've had recently and the food was really good. 10% discount for Annual Passholders.

Now we're back in OKW. The rain just keeps coming in waves. It seems to be taking taunting lessons from Kevin. It will appear to taper off and get your hopes up that it will dry off, only to have another heavy downpour come along.

Thanks for the update Jeff. I just looked at the radar and I hope I'm not jinxing it by saying this, but it looks like it may clear for a bit.

Looks like it has finally stopped raining. Hope tomorrow is nice. I think we're off to Animal Kingdom in the morning. Dinner at Jiko tomorrow night!

We went to AK this morning. Got there about 9:30. Couldn't believe the line of cars waiting to get in. Once we parked and go to the bag check area we were thinking this might have been a mistake, the lines were at least 20 people long. Same thing at the turnstiles, but we found one down the end that apparently people had not noticed.

Once in the park it didn't seem to be quite that bad. We did pick up a FP for the Safari, even though it was posted as only a 20 minute wait. We walked through the Pangani trail and did a little shopping until our return time. The Safari was good. We actually got to see the lion prowling around, rather than just laying there.

Connor did a kids thing where you go to a special kid's station (think KidCOT) in each of the different lands and they show them something about the animals there. Then they get a stamp in a little folder for each of the 6 stops. He enjoyed it.

We had lunch at Pizzafari. Nothing special, just something to tide us over until Jiko tonight.

Jiko was wonderful last night. Food porn posted over on FB.

Jeff and Val like they're having a simply awful time! :rolleyes1

We did 'Ohana last night.

Overall? Fun, but not a great meal.
We found the food was generally dry - no wonder they give you those dipping sauces.

Connor is allergic to tree nuts (peanuts are OK) and the chef came out to discuss what he could have. He also promised to make him a special desert at the end. Basically, the only thing that Connor couldn't eat was the bread because of potential cross contamination issues. We were very impressed with his special desert though. A stack of pineapple, bananas, brownie, marshmallow and cotton candy all skewered on a stick standing straight up. He brought it to the table and then poured chocolate sauce over it.

Highlight of the evening? Val & I got lei-ed. We decided we were going to celebrate our anniversary (which is actually a couple of weeks away) on this trip. So during the "show" we went up with the other anniversary couples and got a lei and did a nice slow dance.

Sounds like fun Jeff. Glad the dessert worked out. Although Ohana is a noisy restaurant they do a nice job recognizing special events.

Happy Anniversary to you and Val! :wizard:
