Can you park at Polynesian Resort and walk around property? Can you take a monorail to grand Floridian?

I believe you have to have a resort or dining reservation to be able to park at the Poly or any of the other monorail resorts for that matter. As for the monorail to the GF, yes there's a monorail that goes from Poly, TTC, GF, MK, Contemporary and back to Poly. You can also walk from the Poly to the GF.

If you have an ADR at a Poly restaurant, you should be able to park there. But you are not permitted to stay there all day.

If you want to visit the Poly and take your time and also visit the GF, you should park at the TTC or else take a bus from Disney Springs. You can also take the monorail to the GF and CR from there very easily.

It is a very easy walk from the TTC to the Poly--that's what I would do if I were you. Or you could make a rez at Kona Cafe and just grab a drink there before exploring the resort.

Yes, unless your an AP/DVC and I THINK there's no parking charge for AP/DVC Members (our friends come visit while we're there and they dont pay parking).

No charge if staying on property or an AP. DVC pays unless one of those two conditions are met.

No love for DVC members. We pay for theme park parking if we’re not staying onsite. We’re only off the hook for it if we also have an AP.

Can I ask what time you were planning on going? I was allowed to park at the Poly last November, it was in the evening and we said we were headed to Trader Sam's. (Not a lie, genuinely what we did.) You don't make reservations for that bar, but it only opens in the evening. So during that time the security is more likely to let you in, but during the day time they must constantly battle against folks who try to avoid parking fees by stowing their cars at the MK resorts all day.

If you want to spend some time at the resort and its during the day time, it would be worth it to get a reservation at Kona Cafe for lunch (or breakfast if early). Then you are free to park. And they have great food that wont break the bank!

They may limit your parking to three hours if you are not a guest of the resort.

Typically the monorail resorts are a bit stubborn with letting non-guests park there. One morning they had a list of those with Ohana/Kona reservation, and anyone not on that list could not enter unless they were staying there. The contemporary has also given me a hard time when I was just trying to go to contempo. I'd say the easiest MK resort to get into is WL. I go to geyser point quite a bit and they have not given me a hard time when it comes to parking there. You could take the boat to MK or CR and monorail to poly from there if you don't have a reservation at the poly.

Disney is wise to those who try to 'game' the parking system and really just want to go to Magic Kingdom. Ticket/trans center is best bet or if near Epcot, you can also take the monorail from there.

We have both stayed at Poly and just visited on many occasions, and parking is hit or miss. For at least a decade I’ve been going there specifically to get my favorite sandwich from Captain Cook’s any time I’m within a few hours driving distance. The last couple years especially they are very strict on parking at the monorail resorts. If you don’t have an ADR and/or you are not staying there, be prepared to park elsewhere. Don’t go in the evening because the lot is small and fills pretty quickly when people arrive for the luaus and dinner ADRs. Definitely do not try to park there on a holiday, you will almost certainly be turned away. You can pay to park at TTC and monorail or walk over (takes about 10 minutes), or park for free at Disney Springs and take a bus to Poly(takes a lot longer, but it is free). You may very well show up at the Poly and be allowed to park, but have a backup plan just in case.

Just as another data point... About a week ago on a weekday, I was at a conference in Orlando, not on Disney grounds. I drove to the Poly and was truthful about it and asked if I can walk around the property and shop in BouTiki (my wife loves the Honolulu Cookies and I thought I'd surprise her with it). I didn't mention anything about being a DVC member. The guard asked for my ID and let me in. He indicated that I must park in the lot that's closest to the DVC resorts. No time limit given. It was about 5pm (after my conference day), so I'm not sure if that made a difference.

It's crazy that day trippers can park there for free, but that hotel guests who are already paying Disney those top-dollar resort prices also have to pay for parking.
