Hi guys,

We are regular visitors to DLRP, and are looking to take the plunge and go to WDW this year (my profile may suggest we went in 2012, but decided to get married instead! Lol)

We want to try and go for our anniversary (17th), and feel as it may be the only time we go we want to fit in as much as possible by staying onsite. We were looking to go for 10 days from the 15th and are curious of the following things

- Will 10 days be enough to fit in the whole resort?
- Will the Christmas theming be in full swing by then?
- Will it be really busy (with Thanks Giving, etc)?
- Is it worth getting a meal plan? If so which?
- Are they are flash sales likely to come up soon?

There will probably be more questions, but that's all we can think of ATM

Cheers in advance
Matt

Hi Matt

We have been in November and December before. I think you will see that crowds will only ramp up at WDW from Thanksgiving to the weekend. This year it says that Thanksgiving is Thursday 27th November, so I would think from then until the Sunday.

You can check historic crowd levels and predictions on sites such as touring plans.com although you have to subscribe to get all the information.

We were there in October last year and came home on the 14th November, by which time a lot of the decorations were up and MK had held its first Christmas Party, so you should get to see most things. The Osborne lights started 8th November 2013 so again, you should be ok. Although the Candlelight Procession does not normally start in Epcot until the end of November.

I can't help with the dining plan as we have never had it. We stay offsite or split between WDW and offsite so I suppose it depends if free dining would be offered when you are there, whether you will hire a car to make the most of eating offsite which is cheaper and obviously where you will be staying. You will need to stay on site to buy the DDP.

As for 10 days, how long is a piece of string! You will be able to see all the WDW parks, go to the water parks and take in most things if you are just doing WDW. Are you planning on shopping or going anywhere else. All the Disney hotels are decorated and it is lovely to see them and the gingerbread houses, there is so much to see and do. We have been going since 1989 and I'm sure we haven't seen everything yet! :)

Feel free to ask as many questions as you need to, there are plenty of people on here who will look at prices and help with tickets etc:thumbsup2

would that be 8 full days? You can certainly make a dent in the parks if you do morning until night but no you won't be able to do it all. Your best option is to decide what you really want to do in the parks and concentrate on them.
- Will the Christmas theming be in full swing by then?

Most of the decorations are up by Thanks Giving and some of the festivities.
- Will it be really busy (with Thanks Giving, etc)?

The week of Thanks Giving is VERY busy. It's not just Thanks Giving itself until the weekend.
- Is it worth getting a meal plan? If so which?

Personally I would never pay out of pocket for it. If it's part of a package all well and good. We find we really don't eat that much when we pay out of pocket as the portions are huge
- Are they are flash sales likely to come up soon?

well you might find some offers but I very much doubt you'll find the free dining for this year now.

There will probably be more questions, but that's all we can think of ATM

Happy Planning:)

We went in November last year, 1st Nov - 15th Nov in the resort and really enjoyed our stay.

The Christmas decorations were mainly up (things like the gingerbread house in GF weren't finished but were under construction) and we were lucky enough to have our trip line up with the Osborne Lights switch on.

As you are heading over slightly later in Nov, I would suggest that the decorations would be up (which are lovely!).

Thanksgiving is the 27th of November this year if I am right, so you may start to get into heavy crowds towards the end of your break. But with some savvy planning at the start of your holiday and a tick off of all the "biggies" you should be able to do everything you want.

14 days isnt enough to do everything!! There is so much to do, so with your 10 days I would pull together a list of things that you both want to do and take it from there - you might find that the list requires another trip :thumbsup2

We did the DDP as it was "free" and found we had plenty food for the 2 of us, but the time in TS restaurants really can eat into park time (mind the pun). If you want to maximize what you do in the parks, and aren't too fussed about TS meals then the QSDP might be a good option for you. Although, like others have said, I wouldn't pay out of pocket for it, simply because you get so much food that by the end of the trip i find I'm picking up things for the sake of it.

Hope this helps!
