Visit in June or Christmas?

I am starting some early planning for a Disney trip.

Based on crowds and weather, would you rather visit Disney during the week of Christmas to New Years or the last week of June?

What reason would you prefer one over the other?

We would be staying for 7 days. I also plan on staying off site but close by.

I have 4 children.. Ages: 8, 6, 4 and 2.5.

Thanks for your help!

Definitely Christmas imo

Way better weather and Christmas time at Disney is my favorite time to be there. Going during the summer really doesn't compare to going around Christmas in terms of the decorations and atmosphere.

As far as crowds it will be crowded regardless of the time you pick between the two

Christmas. It's cooler, the decorations are amazing, and the holiday special offerings like Candlelight Processional, holiday storytellers in Epcot, special fireworks shows, etc. really make the whole place seem even better.

I love Christmas at Disney! :santa:
But based on crowds and weather?
I would choose June.
There are some serious crowds between Christmas and New Years. I imagine you'll be trying to navigate a large stroller through those crowds. You will move slowly. :crazy2: Weather is unpredictable in December. At least in June, you can have daily pool time.

June and Christmas time are very crowded. The only differences are weather, price ( Christmas seasonal prices are much greater than summer prices ). If you have kids who like star wars, that usually runs the first 2 weekends in June at HS. Also HS has frozen summer fun going on in June through September. Meanwhile Christmas has Osborne spectacle of lights (if they still do it?), candlelight processional at epcot, and MVMCP at magic kingdom. Just remember the MVMCP requires an additional cost per person.

I'd go June. I'd rather have the hot weather. We have had days in December that have been really cold and have agreed that we won't go out of our way to go at that time of year again.

The Christmas decorations are wonderful though. But as are the storms and bone melting heat of the summer. And late opening hours. Oh how I love hot late nights in WDW.

Those were our two choices as well and we chose June for the following reasons:

1. It's busy, but not as busy as Christmas when the park will typically reach capacity and close, and you're packed in shoulder to sboulder. I can't imagine trying to navigate through that with four kids and a stroller.

2. December has cooler weather, which is nice in a way. But it can be so cool that you won't get to do the water parks or enjoy the pool.

3. The weather for traveling. Depending on where you're coming from you have a pretty good risk of winter storms disrupting your travel plans - either being unable to get to your flight on time, flights being delayed due to weather, therefore missing connections etc. When you only have a week, it's not a chance we were willing to take. Also it's not uncommon for flights to be overbooked and have to bump you. We had that happen twice with Christmas-time travel.

4. Price. Christmas prices are insane. Flights are outrageous compared to June. Lodging is typically more as well.

Easy June. Christmas crowds are like no other

My vote is for JUNE. HANDS DOWN.

Christmas week be prepared to wait for EVERYTHING, including restrooms. I can't fathom going with kids that young, stroller etc. when the parks are a wall of people.
