We are visiting WDW for our 10th trip in two weeks. Should we take a cab (from Contemporary) and visit Celebration? Do the residents mind tourists walking around their neighborhood? According to Celebrations website, there is a Horse and Carriage Ride for Scenic tours of Celebration. Anyone ever done that?

I think a cab would be the way to go, Jodi, if no rental car. As far as if the residents minding, I think they probably would wish they were not in a 'fishbowl' but am quite sure they realized that when they built or purchased there, most likely having done it themselves before making the leap, somethings just go with the territory. As for the carriage ride, I know nothing, but sounds like a nice way to do it. Enjoy.

I didn't know they had scenic carriage tours of Celebration. I learn something new everyday here on the DIS.

Every Weekend, Sept. - June
(Friday and Saturday evenings)
6 p.m. - 10 p.m.

It doesn't say the cost, though.

I found that information HERE

Just scroll down a ways.

We went on our last trip in Nov 2001 and we didn't get a sense that folks minded. We walked around downtown and then walked to the model homes (one reason the town itself isn't going to mind LOL) and took a look.

We did have a rental car for this trip.

Edited to add that we also had lunch downtown at a diner.

Oh! I would love to do this on a future trip!! I'm reading the Celebration Chronicles right now.
Have fun!
