Hey everyone! We're headed down to WDW around 1am! As proud new owners of a 1972 travel trailer (not the 60s Shasta of my dreams, but the price was right), we would love to come and look around at how everyone sets up. We aren't bringing the trailer this time, but for future reference.

We will be visiting HDDR Sat. at 7:15 for the first time. Is it even feasible to get to the campsites from where the CR boats lets you out? ALlowed? Discouraged?

Thanks Happy Campers!

Wow, and I thought we were weird for refurbing our 8 year old trailer (new awning, floor and paint)! :rotfl:

The answer is yes, you can get access to all of the loops by jumping on the internal buses which leave from the Settlement Depot. You can even get dropped off at the Outpost (in front) if you want to jump on a bus to FW from one of the parks, then transfer to an internal bus and take it to any loop you like. There are a couple of different bus loops, so check the map at the bus depots for the route you want to to take.

You will love FW! :woohoo:

The Settlement Bus stop is right across the street from the 700 loop, and you can walk past the 100 and 200 loops to get there. Then the 400 loop is next to 700, so you can just make a walking tour of those close-by loops. Check a map or the Google Earth at the top of this forum for a layout of the Fort and the other loops. Then you could always walk back to the Marina to catch the boat back. Just depends on how much walking you want to do and how much time you want to spend there.

Wish we were going to be there. We could pick you up on the golf cart and give you the grand tour!:)

I know. Most people thought we were crazy, but I just love vintage stuff! My daughters are already calling it their playhouse! :)

Good info! Sounds like Dh, DDs and I should go over a few hours early to stroll around. Thanks a bunch!

:goodvibes How sweet! Campy people are the best! So glad to have joined the ranks!

Since you specifically mentioned a 1960s shasta, I thought I would send you this. sweethomeshasta.blogspot.com/
We happened upon ours nearly 3 years ago. Spent 1 year working on it before we could use it then spent another year putting the finishing touches on it. DH is not a Disney nut like I am but since we've stayed at FW it's easier to get him to visit. It is a wonderful place to stay. Enjoy.
