Anyone run into any issues using a prepaid Visa card at WDW? I'm thinking of getting one to budget for my trip. That is, that will be all of my fun money and once it is gone, I'm done shopping. But I want to double check that I won't run into any issues. I see the cards that Target sells are said to be accepted anywhere Visa debit cards are. They should be fine at WDW, right?

There shouldn’t be any problem using it at WDW. Just from a budget standpoint the cards cost to buy them and some have other fees. Read the info carefully. If your card is compromised, you may not have a recourse to dispute a transaction. If you lose the card, again, may be out of luck, etc.

If your plan is to use it only at Disney, you could do the same thing with a Disney gift card. Purchasing it at Target with a red card would get you 5% off, too. If you really want a visa gift card, I would wait for a deal before buying one. Staples, Office Depot, and some grocery stores periodically have them for $10 off and that would offset the activation fee.

they cost to load and the program has had a ton of issues lately

if you are planning ot use it at Disney, iwould just purchase a disney GC

I recently got a good deal on a prepaid Visa ecard thanks to a fellow Budget Board member. I used it to buy a Disney gift card online from the Disney Store and loaded into my disney gift card: https://www.disneygiftcard.com/Manage/MyCards. It's a roundabout way to go but if you get a good deal on a Visa card and plan to use it for Disney, it's handy. I can cash in on MyPoints for certain cards, but they don't offer a Disney gc so getting the prepaid Visa and using it to buy one is a way for me to save for Disney.

We had gotten a few Visa Gift Cards from our wedding shower and just used them for our Honeymoon. We had no problems using them anywhere. We used them for souvenirs and for the food booths at Epcot with the Food and Wine fest. It was awesome we got to try so many foods and none of it felt out of pocket.

I wouldn't bother with the Visa Gift Card, I would just purchase the Disney Gift Card.

Oh I have a bunch of those too! Just want some that are a bit more flexible, if I don't end up using them all up at WDW.
