I've read all the posts, but didn't understand how the Disney Visa offer for the discounted rooms was better than the 7 for 4 package? Is it better because some of you have AP already? And don't need tickets?

I have nothing and we are doing the 7 for 4 package deal..is that a better deal than going with the room one?

Thanks!

I think the 7 for 4 is probably a better deal IF you intended to get UPH's for every day of you stay. Usually when my family goes we don't use any plusses and spend 3 or 4 days at the parks and the other days, swim, do character meals, shop at DD, etc...
I have never found a package to be a good deal for me, that doesn't mean it isn't right for you.

We will most likely do the parks nearly everyday. We are planning on skipping the parks possibly 2 days, but on those we are wanting to do waterparks...so, in that case I see where it would probably be more beneficial to us to have the 7 day UPH, right?

I just wanted to be sure. I didn't want to think WOW I was getting the best deal and then realize I could've saved a ton.

That's something to think about though...thanks!

The discount room code is a better deal for us because we don't need or want UPH passes. This is our first trip and we just want to do nothing but parks for our 5 days there. We thought about extending to take advantage of the 7 for 4, but it's really cheaper for us this way.

I think it depends on what you plan on doing.

I crunched the numbers every way and the 7 for 4 was an awesome deal for us. We were planning on only doing 5 nights so I figured it out getting a 5 day hopper for DH (we have 2 plus options left from old passes) a 5 day hopper plus (2 plus options) for me, and 5 nights hotel using a code like the Disney Visa code (not sure if they will even have a code in October but hoped for it anyway.) Then I figured it out with AP's and 5 nights, then figured it with the 7 for 4 deal. The 7 for 4 brings the Poly Garden View Concierge room down to $280 a night (tax included!) With the code it was $373.56 a night! Lagoon view concierge would be $340 a night with the 7 for 4 deal. Regular Poly GV $219, regular Poly LV $274 (all with tax included.) We did AP's the past 2 years but this deal is really good and I am glad DH got the offer. We could not do the Fairytale offer last year because we already had AP's. We can now do 7 nights with UPH's for LESS money than 5 nights with no UPH's only regular hoppers!!!

Wow PatriciaH...you've stayed everywhere...lol Thanks for your advice. That's what I thought is better for us. Ok, let me ask you a question then....we had decided to go ahead and spend the money on AKL or WL, but REALLY would like to save the extra #3-400 for food/etc while we are there by staying in a moderate. We don't like the theming of CSR or POFQ, so our only choices would be CBR(with transport being our only issue) and POR. What would you do since you've been to all of them? Thanks!

so, in that case I see where it would probably be more beneficial to us to have the 7 day UPH, right?
Will you visit the parks on your arrival and departure days; if so for how long? Will you visit the parks on the 2 water park days; if so for how long? You may find that you are paying a lot of money for a few extra hours of park time when compared to purchasing a 4-day hopper (plus if available) and 2 water park tickets if a 4-day plus isn't available if it seems that you will only have 4 full days of park visiting. Compare the costs doing it both ways; the 7 for 4 may end up being a really good deal, but it may end up meaning you are paying extra for days that you won't be visiting the parks.

Even if it cost a "little" more overall for the 7 for 4, it may be worth it since you will be able to work in some short visits to the parks that you wouldn't do if you only had Park Hoppers.

Not everywhere but working on it! ;) This will be our first stay at the Poly. I'm on the phone right now keeping my fingers crossed that Poly GV concierge is open. Our favorite moderate is Coronado Springs. We loved the transportation it was never crowded and very fast. We also loved the pool, food court and atmosphere. We love Mexico though. My second favorite was POFQ then a tie between POR and CBR. I love the moderates and found the service and transportation great at all of them. I REALLY loved the AKL though:) I am a travel agent and am trying to stay at different resorts to bring back pictures and advice for clients. Otherwise I might be booking AKL right now!

I am not sure if they give you 7 day park hoppers or length of stay hoppers- if they are 7 day hoppers and you only go 5 days you can sell the remaining days on eBay-- even more $$$ in your pocket

Which resort would you recommend for us? 2 adults with a 2.5yr old? Moderate & Deluxe. We are debating and I tell everyone I think I'm getting an ulcer..lol... we are going to be in New Orleans in April, so we really aren't wanting to stay at POFQ. Our options are CBR or POR.... Deluxe would be WL or AKL....YIKES...this is SOOOOO hard....Save a little money and do a mod or go for it with one deluxe.....I just need to not go...lol

The tickets are UPH tickets. The 7 for 4 deal is great for us because we always buy UPH tickets since we go to Typhoon Lagoon and Disney Quest.

I LOVE AKL. We stayed at CBR and we really had an awesome trip when we stayed there. We were relocated last year from POFQ so I cannot speak to that.

My opinion, this is an awesome deal for a deluxe that might not come around again. You'll only have to have two UPH tickets too I think with a 2.5 yr old. I'm not 100% on that.

One word of caution: I would have been fine with going back to CBR and POFQ, but now that DH has lived in a deluxe he won't go back. We were going to stay at POFQ because it was smaller than CBR. It can be a walk to the main pool and food court.

Have you priced out the Dream Maker package on the Disney site and crunched the numbers with only a room only code with the Disney Visa and park hopper tickets?

For us even with the room only code, we were better off with the 7 for 4 deal because the UPH are very expensive.

I have priced packages only. What room codes are there? So sorry, I know I must sound lost...lol....but I am.... ;) I need help..or I'm going to explode soon from all this confusion. Where is the best place to get UPH's and what deals are out there for deluxe resorts...Thanks so much...I'm going to owe all of you soon :)

The room only codes go through 7/4 and it's anyone's guess as to whether there will be any for Sept/Oct. Usually there are, but you never know for sure.

We have booked a Dream Maker trip to DW for Dec 04. Not nearly as good price as the 7 for 4 deal we had in Oct 03. But the inlaws are going along. . .so we really want to stay on site. We are staying at PO - daughter LOVES the trundle beds! Does anybody know of any better deal? The 7 for 4 that has been discussed earlier, are those ending before December? Any insider news on deals in December? Thanks for the help - this is my first post . . princess:

The 7/4 deal is for New Disney Card Holders applying before March 31st, booking your trip by April 30th and taking it from May - October :)

Thanks for the info. We rescheduled our trip last year in order to take advantage of a deal, but we really want the family to see Disney at Christmas, this year. I guess we'll sign up for the card hoping to get future great deals and cross our fingers.
