At WDW, you can show your Disney Visa and get meet n greet/free 5x7 with Disney characters? Anything like this at DL?

Any other Disney Visa Perk I should be be looking for on our trip next week>

Thanks!

They have the same M&G deal in DLR. It takes place in DCA in the North East Corner. Between the Monster Inc attraction and Flynn's Aracade.

Other than that there are some merchandise discounts and Tour discounts.

Maybe some others.

Make sure you check to find out what time the photo op is available. When we were there in March, I believe it was 10:30-Noon daily. You're able to pick up the picture later in the day.

If you're into pins, they have pins available to card holders only.

Just ask if your Disney Visa gets you a discount everytime you check out.......don't really have a list to help you out there....but never hurts to ask!!

I know this is kinda off topic, but since this thread involves the Disney Visa I thought I'd ask it here...
I was reading about the card on the website, and how the Disney Dream Dollars can be used towards APs and other things....and how $100=1 Disney Dream Dollar. Anyone who has the card, do you know how many Disney Dream Dollars it takes to actually be able to use them towards something? Like, how many Disney Dream Dollars = regular dollars?
If you were to put the DDD towards an AP, how many DDD would you need?
I can't imagine having to spend $1000 just to get 10 DDD rewarded to you, and have that equal 10 regular dollars.
Makes sense? I am having a hard time putting in to words what I am trying to ask!

Essentially you get 1% back, but not in US dollars like you spent, in Disney "reward" dollars. I'm not sure in what increment you can redeem them in.

Because you can get many other credit cards that offer 1% cash back, that you can spend on anything, the real benefit of the Disney Visa is the other benefits not the reward program. Things like 10% off $50 purchases, tour discounts and the Meet and Greet.

Still if you want to carry Mickey in your wallet. Shop around before you apply for the Disney Visa. Some places you can get rewards after the first purchase of $40 and some $100 and some $200.

For the Visa Meet n' Greet - do they let you know in advance who the pics are with?

Last year in WDW, we happened upon the Meet n' Greet picture location and there was a fairly long line waiting for the free pictures. We were at that spot in the afternoon where we were just plain worn out, and thought if we knew who the picture was with, it might be worth it. But the CM wouldn't say who the pictures were with. Just curious. Thanks!

If you're like me, and you don't use the card much, you'll occasionally get special offers. Right now I'm in the middle of a 3 month promoton where they're giving me 5% back (5 times normal point value) on grocery store, dining and gas purchases. So I'm using the card a lot right now... but come July, when the promotion expires, I'll be back to my Capital One card. ;)

It seams to be a bit more laid back in DL than WDW. We went twice last week. The cm joked about not telling guests, but then told us. We saw Pluto one day and then chip and dale the next. I have two cards, so we got two free photos each day.

We use our Disney Visa tons and got a 5x promotion feb-april and then again may-july this year. So don't count out those who use it all the time. Great promotion... they just change the terms!

I've been happy with the card - Although I do wish they gave back more than the 1%!
Essentially, after you have earned (i think its a minimum of) $20, you can call customer service and and redeem you points. They do this in the form of a Disney rechargeable "gift card" for lack of a better description. You can load this card with any $ amount greater than that initial requirement. You can then use this card to purchase anything disney. We have used this on DCL as well as in WDW - It helped us off-set some of the costs associated with our Disney trips.
They do run the occassional promotion such as onboard credits for cabins and 6 months interest free on disney vacations charged to the card.
If you spend a lot of time (and money) at Disney, it's a good card to have.

One reward dollar equals one regular dollar.

Us too. We use our Disney Visa card all the time. I have been racking up those points the last few months -and loving it.

I wanted to clear a little up about the meet and greet. At least this was the way it was last summer when we were there:

You go to the place during the set time, I think it starts a half hour after DCA opens and goes for an hour and a half. It's a rotating group of characters. Last summer it was Chip and Dale for the first half hour, then Pluto for the second half hour, then Chip and Dale again.

You then get a voucher for a free 5x7 print, and you can get *any* print from your PhotoPass, it does not have to be the one you had taken with their characters. We got ours taken with Chip and Dale every single time (it just worked out that way) but we got some awesome prints from our PhotoPass with Mickey.

I'm not sure how it is working with the construction, but last summer you had to get the print at the photo place in DCA, not in Disneyland.

You then get a voucher for a free 5x7 print, and you can get *any* print from your PhotoPass, it does not have to be the one you had taken with their characters.

So do you even have to go to the special Disney Visa photo op? Can you just take your Disney Visa to the shop that prints out pictures and get the freebies of other PhotoPass pictures?

Yes, you do need to go to the photo op.
You will be given a voucher (similar to a fastpass) which can be redeemed for photopass picture.

Once youve been rewarded 20 reward dollars so youve spent about 2000 on your card you can cash them out for the first time and will recieve a rewards card. After that first time its when ever you get to ten you can cash them and your rewards card will be reloaded

This might be a silly question but I like to pay in cash during vacation that way I can keep track of my spending/budget better. Can you get a discount by showing your visa and paying cash...or do I have to charge my purchase?

No, Disney makes extra money when people use thier Disney Visa, so offereing the discount is insentive to use it, not just have it.
