long story short, I have 2 visa gift cards. Can these be used for onboard credit? I can't find any information and when I called guest services they said they would work at the port when we arrive.

In 12 cruises I've never had them before so this is a first for me.

These are visa gift cards, not Disney Gift cards.

Thank you!

I see no reason why a VISA Gift Card would not be accepted. You may need to set-up your onboard account as cash if you don't want a credit card to back it, then go to Guest Services onboard and give them the VISA gift cards to apply to your account. I don't know if they'll accept them in advance as OBC, though again most likely - especially if you use the order form. I believe VISA gift cards process like a VISA credit card. I've used them in the parks with no problem.

Enjoy your cruise!

I have always been told that any unused pre-purchased OBC goes back to the funding source regardless of how you set up your onboard account. Even if you prepurchase the OBC yourself.

If you think you will not use all of it, I would use the Visa gift cards to purchase Disney gift cards and use those for the OBC. I DON't know that they can refund money to the Visa gift card. I guess as an alternative you could find out the balance remaining and buy a Disney gift card from the store on board with that amount just before closing your account.
