My mother-in-law just got the Disney Visa. We are planning a trip and want to take advantage of the free dining plan. My question is: if we book two seperate reservations (dh, the kids and I are going early, she is joining us later in the week.) with her using the Disney Visa to make the downpayment on both reservations. Will we be eligable (and allowed to get) for the free dining plan on both reservations?i know after three days out they should offer the plan to the general public but i know i have a better shot getting the resort i want if i can book the first day its offered.need input thanks

that wasnt my question..i am aware of that..and as far as qualifying all that is needed are the right dates and resort space for the packages, but the plan is released to cardholders for the first three days.my question was if the ressie is made with a disney card by the card holder and the resort had spaces, can the ressie be made with my name on it ..im not the card holder..but the card holder will be making a ressie as well just for four days after we arrive

Yes, I did this last year. (We didn't end up going, boo hoo.) I set it up as a grand gathering, and I made the reservation for two rooms for two families of four on the Disney Visa during the advance period. I did have to pay one deposit for each room. They told me they put subsequent payments on other cards, though I never got around to testing this since we decided not to go.

HTH.

danx2,
It should not make any difference who pays. The Disney Visa card gets you the early free dining reservation before the general public and any rooms she pays for makes the persons under that reservation eligable. I have 2 diz visa cards and we take our children and grandchildren to WDW every year and make all the reservations under the one card. The only potential problem I see is if your mother-in-law is staying in the same room with you she will have to pay for the same number of ticket days as you even though she's not there unless she has a seperate reservation.

thank you so much..no shes not staying with us shes getting her own room at the same resort.we want to go for 10 days and she will only be joining us for 6 days.thanks again.. now all i have to do is wait:cheer2:
