Virtual Stateroom Tour

I am not sure but I think I am cat8. All of the sudden my daughter said we were cat9. What is the difference? We are a family of four (dd10 and ds9).
We could not afford the fancier cabins. I am just tickled that we are going. We are suppose to have a wall bed or pull down bed? People that have stayed in these cat, I would love to hear some feedback. Please!! Also, not to change the subject, but what is the weather like the second week of December? I am not worried about the land portion.....we know that part. I am talking about Nassau and Castaway Cay.

CAT8s and 9s are identical, it's just the location that is different. To be honest with you, cruise 3 we were in a CAT8 (deck 5, 5016) and cruise 4 we were in a CAT9 (deck 2, 2052) and we loved the CAT9 so much more mostly because of the location on deck 2. So being on a higher deck isn't always preferable. This is even in comparison to being on deck 7 for our first two cruises.

If you booked a stateroom for 4, then you probably have a pulldown from the ceiling and then the sofa bed. I slept on the sofa bed when I cruised with my Mom and I found it to be very cozy -- I'm 5'4".

HAPPY CRUISING!

Thank you! We are going to be so excited that we could probably sleep in the linen closet!!!!! I am curious about the space just because my dh and I went on a carnival cruise and the room was tiny but sufficient for two. I just want the kids to have the time of their lives. I love seeing the excitement in their eyes. I have to say though....if money was not a factor, the cat3 rooms looked nice. My dh and I spent more time in our cabins on the last cruise than we probably will on this one because of the children.

I don't have anything to add but this is a really great thread that merits a semi annual

What a great thread! I have some Cat. 4 ones that are similar to lbgraves, only our room was the opposite way (bed on the other side of the room). I'll post those later.

Seeing as I didn't do this when I was thinking about it, here are the photos from Cat./ 4 Cabin 8058 on the Magic in December 2005.

The door (smiling boys not included unless you bring your own) :)

The sofa during the day (see the coffee table? It is adjustable.)

And as a bed at night (see the chair in the background? That's in front of the Murphy Bed)

Thanks sooo much....I think we will love this room......Thanks again!!!!!!!!

nzdisneymom, or anyone else who's stayed in a Cat4 - is there a steamer trunk in the Cat4? And if so, about what size is it? Does anyone have pics?

If you look in this picture, over to the right, you'll see the steamer trunk (at least I guess that's what you call it - the doors opened up and there were three shelves in it).

Cindy - THANKS so much! I appreciate the time you took to post that picture for me! All your other pictures (and captions) were wonderful, too! :) Thanks for sharing!

Does anyone have pics of a CAT. 9 with 2 portholes. We were just assigned stateroom 1060 (upgraded from CAT 12 GTY!!!) :cool1: I am curious what the 2 smaller portholes look like. Thanks!

Thanks! We loved our time on the Magic, but honestly, half the fun of the cruise was preparing for it, cruisin' the DIS, and looking at photos. Especially photos of the details of the cruise - what the staterooms looked like, etc. I'm glad that this thread got started because it's a great way to get an idea ahead of time about space.

Our stateroom hosts name is Iketut "Ike" for short. He's from Bali and he was just awesome. He made the week just perfect for us. We want him again when we return.

The room was impeccable. The linens were clean and soft and we always had plenty of towels and extra pillows too. We had a large steamer trunk which helped store most of our clothes.

Eeek! Justmestace, great pictures of 8534. We are sailing in that cabin in November, and you've got me so excited!

If you have a chance could you tell me if there is a CD player? How about room to park stroller?

Thanks!

You could park the stroller behind the dining table (next to the chair the blonde is sitting in in my photo) or next to the wet bar if you aren't opening out the murphy bed.

And yes, in the cabinet under the TV is a CD & DVD player.

I have pictures of the Walt, if anyone wants to see them......yes, no?

What part of "YES!!!! Do it! Yup! Go for it! Please??" surprises you???? :rotfl:

Okay, okay!! LOL

I didn't get a shot of the entryway leading into the room, wish I had. But I'll start with a shot of the living room, from the dining room:

Living room & dining room, from the library:

Living room, showing the TV/entertainment center: You can see the new clock in this picture:

Piano...yes, you can play it:

The "pantry" in the hallway, with an extra fridge and a sink..and more shelf space:

One thing that we discovered about the Walt, and the Roy.....the Passporter says that the sofa is a single sleeper sofa. The sofa is not a sleeper at all. The bed in the Master bedroom is a standard Queen, and cannot be separated into twins like the other categories, the library has a murphy bed that is "double size", but is actually two twins put together, and the 2nd bedroom has two twin beds, and two pull-down ceiling beds over each twin.

Thanks this is a great thread :thumbsup2

Continuing on.....I did get a picture of the hallway leading to the door, but it isn't a good shot. We put most of our door magnets on the inside, so that they wouldn't "disappear". To the left in this picture is a table with a picture of Walt above it. Just across from that table is the 3rd bathroom, with a sink, some drawers and a toilet.

IMGP1462.jpg

Second bedroom, it has a smaller walk-in closet, with a small chest of drawers in the closet, dresser and desk in the room. There is NO mirror in the bedroom for dressing/styling hair.

Second bathroom tub:

IMGP1456.jpg

Second bathroom sink: SORRY! Forgot to downsize that one!

IMGP1455.jpg

To get to the 2nd bedroom, you go through the dining room. Sorry, no picture of that.
