I thought it would be fun to start a thread for those of who are unable to attend Podcast Cruise 5.0. There's a lot of us out there who are educators, from families that cannot take their children out of school, or cannot join in due to other obligations. Here's our place for a virtual cruise of sorts! :beach:

How's everyone this morning?

"other obligations" - that's me.

And it isn't shopping, either.

Or not being able to attend due to living on the other side of the world :-(

Would love to go on a podcast cruise. Do they do them bi-annually?

Technically, no. They typically occur "biennially." :goodvibes

The team typically does some kind of a Caribbean cruise in December.

They have started doing a summer cruise of some kind as well, though not always on Disney, for those who are less able to cruise during the school year.

For example, in 2015, there is a June cruise on Royal Caribbean to Alaska leaving out of Seattle.

In the non-cruise years, there is usually a late night party somewhere in Orlando. Last year (2013) the event was at Toy Story Mania in DHS. 2011's event was at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure).

None of this is carved in stone.

As PCC 5.0 boards and folks start celebrating, I'm finalizing lesson plans for my classes tomorrow. But I'll definitely be living vicariously through people's posts here and on FB.

And I'm bummed that the June cruise happens before the end of my school year. :sad1:

I've been grading and doing lesson plans all day. Ugh.

Our ship has arrived!

Woohoo!

I'm in! I'm too poor to get on this podcast cruise. Saving for my 2015 WDW trip!

Contrary to rumor, the moon doesn't really look like this

on a podcast cruise.

And lets not forget, the people on the podcast cruise have now had to experience the "torture" of the

I hope they survived.

Wow! My virtual cabin steward, Kenneth, folded my towel into a monkey! And, so funny, my virtual assistant waiter, Irwin, remembered that I liked unsweetened iced tea!

I'm late checking in but I made it just in time!! :cool1: Safety drill, check; Sail away party, check; next up...dinner...what are you all having?

Yes, I am running late getting to the dining room...which one are we in tonight. Had to go to the infirmary...no they don't have deliveries of babies at change of shift onboard...Term pregnant mommies wouldn't be allowed to board...babies often muck with my mealtimes!!:rotfl2:

I don't know about anyone else, but I had a few of these on the verandah last night.... ;)

Stepped out into 18 degrees for my 1 hour commute to work.

It's WAY better than sleeping in, gently swaying to the motion of a cruise boat in warm Western Caribbean waters.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

We cruised in March and I thought it had scratched that itch for awhile. But seeing FB and the Boards light up yesterday with pics and Bon Voyages made me rethink....

There might be some number crunching going on today. Just wish it were easier for educators to do off-season cruises!!!!

It's back to school in our household, and the sun is shining in SoCal, after a nice, long needed rain yesterday. It's all about PTA, housework, Girl Scouts, practicing music, and Christmas shopping.

Imaging I am on the verandah enjoying a nice cup of coffee. Then my family will go for breakfast. After that my daughter will have fun with Tinker Bell on the kids' deck while my husband and I sit by the adults only pool.

What a beautiful day back here on our verandah. We love being on the back of the boat. I forgot to ask one thing when we got on... WHERE ARE WE GOING?? :-)

In real life I am grading test and watching my student teacher TEACH UP A STORM!!!
