We've been customers of VirginMobile pay as you go plans for years. Last week I ordered three new (expensive) phones for Christmas gifts to replace older phones. They came last weekend, and we put them under the tree (though they are supposed to be opened by the end of this week because of timing of older plans). Anyway.....today I go on the website to look something up for my SIL and find out all phones are now 30% off!!

I called and had a lengthy conversation with two customer service types. They tell me the only way to get the difference is to return the phones (on my dime) and buy new ones at the new price. They say there is absolutely no way to give me the difference in price back unless I go through that procedure.

I don't want to return them....we want to start using them by the 19th. I don't want to have to box them up (three separate boxes instead of the one they came in) and go to the post office. I don't want nearly $600 in one purchase and $400ish of another purchase sitting on my CC while I wait for the refund. ARGH!!

I am really disappointed in their customer service and I've always touted their great phone 'plans' and service. Until now. And I couldn't find a person to complain to...they wouldn't give me any names above the supervisor I talked to.

Why can't you put them all in the same box? I would return the phones to save $200 in a heart beat! Even if I had to put them in separate boxes.

The same thing happened to me with Barnes and Noble (online). I ordered a Nook cover and a few days later they were 30% off. I called and asked if they do price adjustments and they said no. I had to return the original item and then repurchase the item for the 30% discount. I am still debating this. It is only $10. But on a $30 item, that is a big %.

However, victoria's secret is great about price adjustments! I bought DD some university sweatpants and they went down by $10 and I called and got the adjustment!

I would buy them at their new price so you can activate the new price pns on the 19th and then return the pone's I already have for the full price with my old receipt. It's worth the $200 you'll get back.
