ok, well, it was interesting. I volunteered and was put in a room all afternoon, thankfully it was a pretty decent room. Had an ek success class that rocked (and the amt of stuff they handed out was awesome), then I was in some autumn leaves "undercover" class, which turned out pretty cool too. the stamping station class was not so good... and the last class was a total nightmare, not enough kits, really cranky people... Then today I went "shopping" . Wasn't impressed with the place. Not a refill to be found anywhere, nothing really new and exciting (ok, I did buy 2 of the new quickqutz embossing dies since they were 30% off), but everything else....
Did take the disney class and the rebecca's attic class (both by ek success and got lots of cool stuff) :D maggie

I went shopping today (just got home). I stocked up at the Deluxe Designs shop. You can't beat $1.00 price. I also picked up some of the new Shortcuts vellum with the adhesive already on it. We'll see how it works.

I liked the photo mats store. They had a cute 'Disney 2004' photo mat that I wanted, but I couldn't spend the $$.

The Disney class, was that the one where you made a frame and a few pages using the Jolee's & Phrase Cafe' Stickers? If so, did you get the handout with instructions? When I took the class last weekend in TX the instructor used some excuse about the instructions falling off the pallet or something so we didn't get them. I was really bummed when I saw someone the next night that had them.

I enjoyed the class a lot - got lots of neat stuff out of it - but something about the instructor (can't remember her name) just didn't strike me as friendly. I'd tried talking to her both after the class and a couple days later to see about getting the instructions but she was really short with me.

hey robin, yup that was the class. I do have the handout, I could scan it (or photocopy) and send it to you if you want. Sorry to hear about the instructor, ours was really nice. maggie

Erika, I couldn't pass up the diecut either. I bought 30 of them! Oh my! I almost bought one of the mats too, but decided I didn't really need it. We're going on our first cruise in Oct and they had one that had "cruise" on it. Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet up, maybe we can sometime soon.

Hi girls -- I also bought a bunch of the deluxe die cuts! Boy was their line long. I also bought several of the overlays (can't remember the name of the booth, towards the front, in the middle). I have never used those and have some very amateurish (sp) attempts at that type of design. I was happy to find those. My splurge purchase was the Sizzix lollipop lowercase set. It was $99, an okay price, but Michael's NEVER has it, despite trying to order it, etc. It was worth it just to finally have it.

I had never been to one of these shows; I'm pretty much a CM/Michael's kind of scrapper. I also had free admission, so it was very cool for me to see what else is out there.

Question for you--- how many of you buy the pre-made pages and just add your photos/journaling? There were some awesome, awesome spreads, but I just couldn't bring myself to pay that kind of money per page. My layouts may not look that great, but I like 'em.

Happy scrapping with your new stuff everyone!

No, I can't say I've ever bought any of the kits. They are cute, but not worth the price IMHO.

I dont get the kits either. The price is way too much. Plus my album pages are simple, and with those kits being so embellished, the pages would like out of place.
