Virginia driving to WDW

Always fly to WDW


Considering retiring in Virgina DH mentioned it this evening

Should we still fly to WDW or could we drive?

How many hours of driving ?

We would drive thru North and South Carolina
Georgia and 1/2 of Florida

I would assume at least 12 hours of driving one way ?

Depends on your starting point and which route you take. From Richmond, sticking with I 95 and I 4, its about 11 hours driving time. Stops for gas, meals, etc would add more time. Since its doable in one day and inexpensive compared to flying, I would absolutely drive. But then it takes us 3 days to drive to WDW, so I consider yours a short trip.
