Hey everyone, I'm another fellow Virginia DIS'r! We're in northern Virginia about 30 mins. west of Dulles airport in Loudoun County. We love it here too! It's nice to 'meet' you all

Our next visit to the World will be in Nov when we do a 3 night cruise and then 3 nights at WDW. How about you guys, when are you next visiting?

Your "Avatar" was my Christmas card last year.. Love the castle all decorated for Christmas. Wish I had a decent airport near us.. to get good prices I have to drive a minimum of 2 and up to 4 hours away.




My next Disney is Aug 13( hoping we will be able to fly for that one) but we will be in Fla. in June doing other things...
having mixed feelings about that.. seems somehow Un -American to NOT GO TO DISNEY !!!:

Hi! I also am from the Shenadoah Valley - Elkton - I moved here from Ohio in 1987 so I do feel that VA is my home now. I haven't posted in a very long time. Same story, computer problems, then we moved during Christmas and work. Our last trip to WDW was in Sept. '07. I am very home sick So, now I have it all figured out and bugeted for a trip in Spring of '10. I know, it seems so far away, but I need the "planning a trip to Disney" fixMy big problem is that I can't officially do anything on the WDW site yet! They are only doing ressies up thru Dec.31! How much longer must I wait?!

Oh you can always do what those obsessed Disney Nuts like me do. Put it all down on paper, Look at old video's.. maybe start a REALLY REALLY really Slow PTr just so you can stay excited. It is hard when you can't just book when you want to.
You moved to Virginia shortly before we did. We moved here January 1989 and yeas Virginia is now our home. I'm in Roanoke... which is really in the Hill and Valley Region of Virginia but it is so close to the Shenandoah Valley.

Glad to see more Virginians. There was another VA thread at one point! I'm second generation northern Virginian, which makes me only barely a Virginian to some!

However, I spent several of my happiest years in Harrisonburg and did some volunteer work at the Wytheville Children's Home, so I have seen your part of the state too. Love the valley...

Welcome back to the DIS...

We are in Richmond, grew up in Northern VA... You won't find to many Native Virginian in that part of the state but there are some.. Most are transplanted via Military, Government or Business

We never fly to WDW, we always drive, it's a super easy 11 hours and give us our car for the week.. It's also so much cheaper to drive.

Not sure when it is but I have read on one of the threads that there will be a VA Dis meet this summer or fall. I am sure someone will pop in here and announce details..

I LOVE SUPRISE VISITS

We did that one year for my daughters birthday... We got up and said we were going to her "party" and get ready. She wondered why there were suitcases in the van... as we pulled up to the airport... she was even more suspicious.
When they announced The flight to Orlando... she started screaming.. BEST BIRTHDAY PARTY EVER

And, I have already started a very early pretrip report - my dd is expecting a new baby boy in Sept. so I have already started getting his clothes ready for our "Baby Gavin and Granny Does Disney '10 trip" I know, pathatic

Im from VA Beach. I have lived here since I was 11 months old and I am 21 now. So I wasnt exactly born in VA but close to it. I will be in Disney again from 7/30-8/6.

So you are going to Disney in June ?? Cool. We MIGHT buy an Annual Pass again and go 1 day in June but we will most likely wait.

The reason we can't do the free dining.. We are Renting Points for our OKW Stay. Dining is based on your Room nights... we are off the Disney Radar. IF we were DVC'rs and had an Annual Pass I think we could swing it... but I'm not sure about that.
Even If I buy tickets from Disney... I have been told I can't get the free dining. So now I'm gonna have the extra people with out the Ability of having the free food. [/FONT][/COLOR]

Oh, that's too bad. At least you are staying in a wonderful resort. If you weren't renting points, you would probably end up paying more to stay in OKW with the free dining.

Don't forget to visit the Design Boards( creative Boards) and make him personalized chirts...For the whole family too I have begun getting some designs together for our trip.. one special one for My baby who is heading to Middle school this fall.

Yeah we leave for Orlando in 32 days

And while I'm excited I am still kinds sad...I have never been in Florida without a trip to Disney. May just have to renew those Annual Passes and go over for a day for my Disney fix

Oh.. and IF I was doing free dining we would probably stay at Coronado. That's where we were going to stay in June... till we decided to go later in the summer. Never been to either resort, always stayed at the Budgets... usually Pop However I LOVE... ASMu
