Hi all-just wondering if anyone was on the above flight from manchester.
We were delayed over 5 hours and it was 4 hours before a drink of water was offered.
Being sat on the tarmac for this long with kids was not the ideal start to the holiday,we could'nt even purchase snacks for the kids.
Ive voiced my concerns with virgin via e-mail but have had no reply yet,its been 14 days since i sent the mail.
Has anybody had any luck with an e-mail or do you think id be better phoning them.
Thanks Dave

Oh that sound terrible.

We flew 15th from manchester and were delayed 2 hours but before we got on the plane.

I'd ring and ask for name and address of person to send a complaint and put it in writing.

Hope you get a reply soon.
I complained to Delta after our August trip, couldn't fault their reply/response time.
We were sat on the tarmac for over 1 hour then with take off and getting to the correct altitude it was another hour so over 2 hours, only recieved half a glass of orange as we boarded. This was in Business class so I doubt economy got anything. 2 hours was bad enough, 4 hours would be a nightmare.
They gave me 75,000 airmiles & an apology, fair enough I thought.

we flew out to orlando on 7th oct from gatwick and we had an aborted take off due to a technical fault so we had to go back to the gate for the fault to be fixed, we weren't allowed back off the plane. We were there for 3 hrs but we could get water from the galley if we wanted it but nothing else.

We flew back on the 21st but to gatwick and seen that a manchester flight was delayed, were you on the diverted one to canada?

Hope you get a response soon

With any complaint i personally think its best to put it in writing and send it recorded delivery. That way they cannot deny they have it! Most companies usually respond within 28 days to a written complaint.

The address to write to is -
Virgin Atlantic - Customer Relations
PO Box 747
Dunstable

UK

Thanks everyone.
I will get a letter sent asap.
Will let you know how i get on.

definately put it in writing and always make a copy for yourselves that way if they try to fob you off you know exactly what you have written !!

im sure big tour operators have to acknowledge your letter within a certain amount of days then they have a further alloted time to respond to the contents

good luck !:)

Correct. However I have always had prompt responses by email with VA, including complaints which were dealt with swiftly. What I did discover after initial attempts to contact them a few years ago is that hitting the Contact Us link on their website does not always seem to send the email. I now have it saved in my address book so it is better to type it out in the address bar and send your message. I have a habit of emailing and putting a letter in the post as well.

I think that is appalling that you sat there for so long without anyone bothering to ensure that you were at the very least hydrated. :sad2:

I would try emailing again stating that this is the second time that you have contacted them. If this fails agree with above, send letter by recorded delivery.

Best of luck.
