I know when we got home from our holiday at the end of May I vented on a lot of different threads about the problems we had with Virgin on the trip (basically we arrived at the hotel to find they had cancelled our room reservation ten days before we travelled, and the hotel was now full, dining plan took 4 days for them to sort out, the US staff were appallingly unhelpful, and we never received an apology or explanation whilst there).

I said I would keep people updated with what happened - well I wrote a six page (I had a lot of issues :rotfl:!!) letter to them, and finally heard back from them today . . . and they refunded us £1500:banana:!! I am absulutely stunned! I honestly expected them to offer me V-Room vouchers! They wrote a really nice letter and I feel like they actually took the time to look at my letter rather than just brushing over it. It has really cheered me up and now - despite what I said - I may actually book with them again!! Orlando 2010 here we come!

So if you do ever have any problems make sure you note all the details down (I had dates, times and quotes from every conversation with the reps over there!) and then fight for your rights once you get home! :thumbsup2
 
Fro £1500 worth of vouchers I would book with anyone! What a victory! You totally deserved it thought the way they treated you was shocking!!!
 
Well the £1500 is CASH! So we don't even have to spend it with Virgin! Thats one of the reasons I am impressed / shocked!! I am taking some of the money out of the holiday fund to get myself some nice Uggs for Disney Paris!!! I feel I deserve it!!

Excellent result - well done. Just goes to show how important remembering all the facts can be when making a complaint.

What a result and thanks for sharing it - it's good to hear about some good customer service once in a while. BIG kudos to Virgin for doing the right thing. :thumbsup2
 
That's fab! :thumbsup2 Saying that, you shouldn't have expected anything less- while Virgin have done "the right thing" by refunding you, why shouldn't they?! They messed up royally, didn't they? It's a shame that we've all become so accustomed to bad customer service. Nonetheless, this is great! Have fun spending the cash. :goodvibes

Great news - well done for persevering!

We also had a catalogue of Virgin Holidays disasters on a ski trip to Lake Tahoe - they awarded us £700 in VH vouchers, so of course we offset the cost of our ski holiday to Vermont with them the following year.

We could not believe it when this one turned into an even worse disaster.

Never used VH again - not likely to again either, because they promised they would take extra care that the same mistakes would not happen again:sad2:

Plenty of other companies out there to book your holiday through.
