Hi everyone
Just wanted to tell you about our experience with VSA recently. Our son has high functioning Aspergers and it really doesn't affect him that much until he does something out of the ordinary, then everyone notices! Mainly it is noise related and things like "Happy Birthday" or sudden excitement are upsetting for him, he also hates hand driers in toilets and confined spaces with lots of people, but we think this is related to the expectation of noise rather than anything else.
He is also very difficult to direct and if he is upset by something will NOT do it again. So his first flight is worrying us slightly, no matter how much we love WDW we don't want to be stuck there because he had a bad experience on the plane out.
Anyway VSA were brilliant, (I felt a bit of a fraud even calling them as in general it is not even noticable) they have guarenteed our seats, a group of 3 together so he does not have to share with strangers, offered a DVD player so he can have his favourite DVDs, allowed us to board first away from the crush and sent him a huge poster of Dancing Queen for his bedroom wall, which he loves! They have told me to call back if I think of anything else too.
So if in doubt call them, the lady I spoke to was really understanding and homed in on the issues better than I could!
