Some time ago I found a link on here to a website which showed the seating plans of planes, good and bad rows to sit in.

I've requested (on someone else's advice) 6 a/k and 7 a/k in Virgin Upper Class but I can't verify with my own eyes that that is the right thing to ask for. We hv 2 young children so wanted to be seated at the front of the cabin away from the bar area.

Thanks

Netty,
Yes I can confirm that these are the best seats in UC when flying with children. These are the ones I always go for.
Pros:
At the end of the plane, no traffic in front of the seats
Seats closest together, easy to look after the kiddies
extra shelving for stuff in the air
Farthest away from the bar

Cons:
No overhead lockers, but plenty of locker space farther back
Furthest point from the toilets

WOW!

Thank you very much for taking the time to post those photos.

We're getting frustrated with Virgin Holidays. We booked in Jan for travel March 08. UC now available to book direct with Virgin Atlantic but despite repeated phone calls to VH, they still haven't booked them and I've got to call them again next week. My concern is that they will turn around and say they aren't available. I used to work for a tour operator so know how it all works, eg. they will only sell a certain amount to VH above their allocation, even though there may still be seats available to full fare paying passengers. Really frustrating..

have you looked at Z class fares direct with VA?

Obi - just checked again on the VA website. Only "J" class showing which, if my memory serves me correctly, is the full business class fare. No alternatives were shown at all. Oh well, all I can do is ring VH again next week. Thanks for your help though.

Oh dear! thats not good :-( That could mean the reward and cheapest tix have gone.

Hope VH have not made a boo boo.

Fingers crossed for you, that the reason no Z fares are showing is that VH have secured them for you

What dates are you thinking of going?

I was going to say have you tried looking at a site like www.airline-network.co.uk We have used them for flights before (normally just to Spain but I like to dream and look at business class fares to Orlando lol :rotfl: ). I suppose that is academic if you have already book though.

Thanks for your suggestion, but we are already committed to VH and will have to forfeit our deposit if we cancel now. I can't say that I am impressed with their customer service.

I rang them again this afternoon. Apparently they have an allocation of 2 "z" class UC seats and they are a week behind releasing the names to the airline which is why I have to ring them again next Wednesday. The "problem" is that we need a total of 4 seats and they were very evasive when I asked what the likelehood was that we'd get what we wanted. It doesn't sound good at all. The only glimmer of hope is that we fortunately can be a little flexible with the return date so can extend by a night or two if that makes a difference.

Do Virgin release more than two Z class tickets on a 14 seat only cabin?
Can I suggest that you go to www.v-flyer.com and ask the gurus there?

It may be if you have the miles that you might get 2 x miles plus money "Q" I think tix plus 2 x Z class?

Not so easy to 'just ask a question' on v-flyer anymore as it is subscription membership only!

You can view most posts but cannot contribute in any way or ask a question unless you pay :(

Sorry Claire, I did not realise.
is this link not to an open part of the forum?
http://www.v-flyer.com/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=8

I did query with the web owner about 10 days ago and as of April 1st due to 'mounting costs' he had to make it a subscription only forum :(

Alot of valuable infomation that was being exchanged has now been limited!

If you were a non paying member and now try to post it tells you your memebrship has expired!!!
