Virgin Prices

I have a friend who is cabin crew for Virgin and he is convinced that Virgin will have to offer special prices on flights to Orlando later in the year. I told him that Virgin was out of my price range and he said that, with the UK economy in such a mess, that Virgin would definitely have to bring prices down, in his opinion. I hope that happens for people holding out for a good price - sounds promising!

i got direct flights last year for this aug for 317 each so i think thats pretty good for a virgin flight.

I dont think he will discount that much more even the 5 day sale they have on at the moment its stillnot that much cheaper than what i paid last year.

I used to work for va as well and still have alot of friends working at head office and they are finding business quite good

To cut overheads rather than seat prices I am sure they will reduce services ie one a day to MCO rather than two if sales are poor. I know that the cabin crew in Fbruary were saying that there were cutbacks on staffing some from natural wastage but some through redundencies

So I would say there may be a few good deals but in general I wouldn't expect to see massive savings for many flights.

Best time to go if you can is outside of the major US/UK holiday times and be flexible with dates when looking.

we've found that the prices havent changed at all - even the 5 day sale that launched today was useless, only £70 cheaper in total for 3 people!!

all they've done on the routes that were getting quiet is cut the number of flights or joined flights together and then they are free to keep the prices up and have only one aircraft running but at least its full fare paying.

dont expect sales to be coming on because of the recession unfortunately.

Me too, I wish we could get some kind of teacher rate because we are NEVER allowed to travel outside of school holiday .... ah we can dream lol

You're really lucky I have never seen Manchester flights at those prices for the school hols, with VA. The prices are always sky high!

I think now that Travel City has gone bust, VA will have plenty of customers, so prices will remain high. From Manchester we've already lost direct flights with BMI/BA

We got fligths from Manchester with VA last year for £308 direct for begining of Sept hoping and praying that they come down again this year. We booked in June last year so fingers crossed.

I'm also holding out for late sept/oct but am i wrong that PE praices aren't affected as i still get 1800 for 2 adults whatever the date?

I'm a job-share and my teaching partner has agreed to work my week and I'll do hers on my return - which means I'll be able to do two weeks in October. If my Headteacher agrees...

mine were from gatwick

PE prices do change as well just depends on what fare codes have been sold already, the cheaper codes sell early on normally so the moer flexible ones are more expensive

I paid £295 each for my mid week VA flights in Jan for Sept/Oct - I got them as part of the virgin flight sale
