Virgin Premium economy worth it?

its costing chris and me £560 each, each way for upper class seats, so £2280 in all just for the upgrades, its pricey and I hope worth it

OH YES!
We cannot fly any other way.

That's more than I paid for the flights and Car hire for 4 of us.
Personnel choice I know but I would much sooner have the money to spend over there.

I should also say that there is going to be a change to the Premium Economy cabin being rolled out across the fleet
Good news for those of you who like a bit more comfort

"The new Premium Economy Super Seat is our widest most comfortable seat ever and is about to blaze a trail through the class of travel that Virgin invented.

So what is it that sets the Super Seat apart from the competition? Your senses will be instantly stimulated by the sight, smell and touch of gorgeous purple leather. But as we said, it’s incredibly comfortable as well and comes with an additional two inch recline, adjustable headrest with wings, better tray table, lumbar support, in seat power, multi-position footrest and the IFE handset is now located in the seatback to release that all important extra width. And it is the extra width that will grab a lot of the headlines because at 21 inches it is wider than BA’s Club World business class seat.

The new Super Seat will enter service next week on A340-600 G-VEIL. This seat will also be fitted on subsequent A346 aircraft deliveries and will be rolling out across the fleet."

I would imagine the majority of people who actually pay for PE can also afford the spending money once they are there.

I wouldnt recommend anyone book PE if its going to leave them short of cash once they arrive, but most people who have used it tend to say its worth it. It also becomes an integral part of the holiday for many people.

If/when they remove the use of the upstairs cabin I will probably not spend the extra.

Not sure anyone can really judge until they have tried it.

With 2 older teenagers costing us full fare it would cut into the spending money big time, that's not to say we wouldn't up grade if the kids wheren't coming with us and we had some spare cash :thumbsup2

When is the upstairs cabin likely to be removed for PE? I might have persuaded DH to go to Florida this year (will be last-minute booking if we're lucky) but he's said he'd want to be in the upstairs cabin.
