Yes, we stayed at the Sheraton Safari a few years back (booked through Travel City).
Things we liked:
Location...very good spot. Only 1m from Downtown Disney, walking distance of the Crossroads (shops, dining, Mini-golf), Sizzlers next door for breakfast. Seconds from the I-4, so easy to get to I-Drive, Universal etc.
The lobby was very impressive, they have two parrots that greet you and its very well done.
Rooms were a nice size, clean and comfortable. Older rooms have recently been refitted.
Things we didnt like:
The staff were very unfriendly. We got allocated a room overlooking the loading bay and it was noisy. Went down to request another which they did do (to a lovely pool view one), but begrudgingly and without a smile.
There was also a fire alarm that went off one night around midnight. A false alarm, BUT, you arent meant to use the lifts and the door to the stairwell was locked. Plus the doors between our floor and the other main lifts had locked automatically due to the alarms. A caretaker did unlock the stairwell, but not for about 10 mins. We also missed the end of a pay per view movie we had ordered, and once again the desk staff were unfriendly about removing it from the bill (they did so though).
DH hated the pool, as it was freezing when it was advertised as heated in November. Conversely, the Spa was almost too hot to get in (though I loved it!).
To sum up then, its a hotel in a great spot and good value. I think maybe we were unlucky with the staff, but they really were very cool and probably the least friendly Americans we have encountered on any trip. Hopefully, that will have improved by now.
Travel City send a lot of people here, and its SEEMS like you are automatically allocated a rubbish room. Ask to see your room before you accept it. This is common practise in the States. Dont be fobbed off with something that you arent happy with.
Any more questions, please ask.
