My DH and I are both are Verizon and he now had another phone through work that he can use personally, so we are going to ditch his personal verizon phone. We had decided to just keep verizon and lower our plan for one user (me). I have been seeing a ton of commercials for Virgin Mobile and $25 sounds like a good deal to me...unlimited data, texting, and 450 minutes. I am not one to carrying my phone around a lot and use it like crazy. I work from home and mainly use it when i am driving somewhere to catch up on phone calls. Does anyone have any experience with them?

I've had service for my DS through Virgin Mobile for several years, and have nothing but good things to say about them. Their customer service is way better than any cell phone company I've ever been with myself, except for T-Mobile, and they're equal with them. We just switched him to the $25 plan, and he is in unlimited-text-heaven. :cloud9: I highly recommend them!

Before you commit, make sure the areas you frequent most have good coverage with Sprint, as VM uses the Sprint network to carry their calls.

I've been using the $25 plan for the past two months and have had no issues. I picked up the Kyocera Loft which is a Blackberry clone.

I have been using Virgin Mobile for the past 5 years at least (both wife and I use it). For Phone Service, it does use the Sprint network so make sure it works where you are. For Customer Service, I've had nothing but positive experiences whenever I've had to contact someone (never had an issue, just basic questions).

If we have a VM phone we previously used for pay as you go, and we use it for this as well?

We've had VM for 5 years. I have no complaints whatsoever with them. I've used the phone in the majority of the country (except the northern midwest) and never had a problem with overage areas. Have referred many others to them and don't know anyone who has left them. Go for it!

I have had a Virgin Mobile pay-as-you-go plan for about 7 years now.

They were great.......until the last 6 months. I've had 3 problems with them in that timeframe. Two were auto-topups not occurring when they should, one of them resulting in my cell phone service being turned off completely at an unfortunate time. The third was for outrageous charges for phone calls - instead of charging me the standard $.25/minute, they charged me $1.05/minute for a series of calls - thankfully I just happened to review my detailed call records one day and caught this!! They have never given me any explanation of why these problems happened, nor any assurance that the core problems have been resolved and won't happen again.

I find I need to monitor my account constantly these days, instead of it being on auto-pilot like it was for so many years. If there is as much as one more incident this year, I'm giving up and finding another carrier.

ETA: NEVER, NEVER report a problem to them via email. ALWAYS report it by phoning them. They do not take action on the emailed problems, even though they send emails saying they will. With my last problem, the sent me an email saying they were working on it, then apparently closed the case without fixing the problem or even notifying me....It was resolved only once I phoned and asked what the heck was going on with it.

Hmmm... I have been trying to buy a phone so we could then get the $25 a month plan, but it keeps telling me there is a problem with the websites security certificate and I should try again later. Does that happen to anyone else when they go to check out?

I just signed up for Virgin Mobile. It's the $25 plan with unlimited web and texting and 300 minutes. It's good, but I don't get a signal at home. I live out in the country in sort of a deep valley, and most cell phones get limited signals here. However, even my Tracfone got a signal when I was out on my deck or on the top floor, and this phone does not.

However, I didn't buy it to use at home and I've had no trouble using it in any of the places I need it to work. The web speed is pretty good.
