Virgin Mobile cell phone questions

I just dropped my IPhone and am now on the VM $35/ month plan. This plan has unlimited text , data, 300 minutes. The $45/ month plan has 1200 minutes. Nothing in between. One thing that will happen is if you use more than 2G of data they will start to slow your data speed down. If you stream Internet radio ( Pandora) this could come into play. You can also upgrade the micro disk but that will run you about $30 to do so. I only keep the minimal apps I need on my phone. Have the Optimus V, but they are discontinuing the phone. Love it all! I'll never go back to IPhone!

I just switched phones 2 months ago and am still on the 25.00 plan so I don't think that is true unless they changed it in the last 2 months.

Great, thanks! Maybe the PP switched to a smart phone plan or something?

I'm on Virgin Mobile, and got a text about 6 weeks ago saying that if we change phones we'll no longer be eligible for our current plan ($25/mth). I seriously considered upgrading but decided to hold off for now, I can't decide what I want to do next. My oldest son is going to need a cell phone pretty soon, I may just pass my phone and plan on to him and get myself a new phone.

I think VM is a great value for what we pay, BUT I am frustrated with the Optimus V. What a previous user said about the phone running out of space is true, I don't have many apps but I keep getting a "phone is running out of space" message. And the data speed is pretty slow. I would love an iPhone but hate the thought of paying 3 times as much for my cell phone every month.

We got DD a VM phone 1.5 years ago. Service has been okay - if Sprint is down to 1 or 2 bars in an area, VM gets no bars. Maybe phones aren't as strong? She had a Samsung Intercept, which broke inside of 6 mos, then got her an Optimus (great deal in Blk Friday). That just broke - less than a year. We have Sprint, so I just switched her. Be aware that you can port your # easily TO a prepaid, but not back. Can't get her phone number switched, which not a disaster for her, but would be catastrophic for me!
