Virgin Miles plus Money Fares

Originally was looking at doing the standard fare paying by cash in full for the 26th August so that I was there for my birthday Virgin flights for then are £489 each. But just found flights miles plus money £418per person plus 2000 points per person.

So my question is how does the miles plus money thing work would I use the points on my card towards both fares ie 4000points DBF doesn't currently have any points on his, or would it need to be taken from both cards.

Also do you still earn points from the flights or because you are flying miles plus money do you not get any.

You can use your points towards both flights as long as you have enough.

Technically, you are not supposed to earn airmiles on miles plus money flights but I have in the past

Thanks Joh, I have enough so will probably use them. Will maybe keep waiting a bit yet to see if any sale fares come out although 418 is cheapest I've found even indirect have been coming out at about £460+.

We have just booked 4 tickets this way for £414 +2000 miles each and all 8000 miles were taken from my miles

Thanks have to wait until bf is back from Poland and I've shown him the budget otherwise I would be booking now back tommorow so hopefully some movement in next week or two.
