Virgin into Sanford?

We went to Sanford once and it was quick to get out of. We had a 7 hour delay on the flight home and there was nothing to do at the airport. I suspect it may have improved in the last 10 years but

If Virgin do move to Sanford, we will be swapping to BA. We hate Sanford. Suren you get through securtiy quicker of the way in but the waiting for the flight in that poxy little airport drives me spare. Not to mention the potential queues for cars. Last time we used Sanford, we waited over an hour. We've never waited more than 10 mins at MCO.

After having been delayed for 7 hours in Sanford, I vowed never again!! All planes on that day were delayed, you could not find a space to sit down (including the floor space which was like a giant bed).

Like many folk, we too have horrendous memories of delayed flights with few or no facilities. To be fair, it has improved significantly in recent years. Our last visit in January, we touched down at 6 and were in our hotel by 7.45, having gone through immigration and customs, collected our hire car and driven to WDW.

Cant see this happening.

One of the reasons to use Virgin (and pay the extra) is because they fly into MCO.

If they didnt I am sure they would lose people to the cheaper carriers also flying into Sanford.

It might be just me....

but they could parachute me in from 2000 feet if it meant I got to my holiday in Florida.

Can't say I'm too bothered which airport I land or depart from, and everyone will have personal preferences.

I'm sure Virgin know the implications of a total switch to Sanford...as do Sanford airport. At least they are going out and asking people's opinions so any decision should be a sensible one.

SFB I hope not. I have always been held up with immigration, suitcases and then the long drive. MCO was much quicker. A pain with the double bag collection, but it was still quicker than SFB. I dont like SFB at all.

I suppose it isn't beyond belief that this might be connected to a possible devlopment or expansion at SFB?
