I knew from this board that Virgin had changed their flight times by 30 minutes and that was why I could not access the manage your flights properly. I didn't want to ring them and pay 0870 rates just to access that part as I was fairly confident with PE we would not have a seat problem.

Tonight (yes, about 8pm) they rang us to tell us the flight had changed the time! I have checked and can now access the manage your flights and everything! Knock me over with a feather!

I just thought with all the negative stuff about Virgin recently (that I have generally agreed with) it was only fair to say when they did something good :)

Its good the hear that their customer service is going the extra mile, people are always ready to moan and let you know the bad but less likely to let others be aware of the good. Well Done Virgin

Well I wish I could say the same!

About 3 weeks ago we booked, and paid for, seats to Sydney and home from Singapore next February/March, and we are STILL waiting for our e-tickets, despite numerous requests.

We have given them nearly £7,000 and have NOTHING to show for it!

Have you made sure your ISP is not dumping the etickets as spam?

I had the same problem initially - dh's eticket came thru fine but I had to chase Virgin for weeks until I got mine. It wasn't the spam killer in our case....

Yes, I have checked that. They claim they send them out in order of departure, and as we don't go until February, say ours may take months to come. I just think they're being slack....I'd have thought they'd send them just to stop us calling :rotfl:

Hhhmmm, I would be worried. I booked a couple of airline tickets on virgin-atlantic.com today and the e-tickets arrived in my inbox WELL within 30 minutes of me purchasing them...

Good luck,
Alice

I don't believe them! If that was true why would dh come thru in a couple of days and mine not come at all after weeks and we were flying the same day! I booked 11 months out for October so if you are booking for January they should be with you long before now on that reckoning.

Oh dear - I thought this was going to be positive for Virgin but it is just throwing up the inconsistncies!

It's bizarre that the issuing of the e-ticket isn't automatic. You'd think their software could be set up to do that.

That is really strange.
My E tickets for December 07 came through 16th January 2007, the day I booked them on line.

Then again, you should be able to download the info at the VA web site under "manage my bookings" anyway.
You don't need the E-Tix to get on the flight.

Yes I know that, but having forked out nearly £7,000 for two of us, 10 months ahead of time, I do think they might have the curtesy to at least issue something!

Gill,
Thats what I was saying.
The sum of money isn't the point (my tickets regulary cost £7,000 plus) but most people have had their E tix within the day and up to 336 days in advance.
It sounds like your E tix might be in your ISP spam box. People like BT have an additional spam box which catches "spam" before it gets to your computer and you can only check that spam box by logging in on-line.
BT for example, clean this out automatically every month.
Can you not ask them to post a hard copy of the E Tix out to you if you need it for any reason?

I thought the e-tickets were automatically generated from the information that you put on the booking form? When I booked in April our e-tickets came within a minute of the confimration of booking which also came a minute or so after I submitted the booking! I know it says the e-tickets can take upto 96 hours to be sent though.

Claire ;)

Good point about spam. I recently upgraded to a newer version of hotmail, it didn't carry over a lot of old settings for mail so a lot of things that should have gone to my inbox were sitting in the junk box instead plus it didn't originally tell me if there was new mail in the junk box. Nearly missed a couple of important receipts.

Thank you for that but I check my spam with BT Yahoo daily and they have not been sent. I have repeatedly asked for hard copies and they keep telling me they are sent in order of departure, which I know to be untrue!

Are your flights showing in the "manage your booking" section of the VA web site?

Gill which airline are you using to get to/from Singapore?

Claire ;)

Singapore Airlines should be ok for e-tickets the only thing I am now thinking is that the arrival and departure airports abroad are different and this may mean an e-ticket will not be issued. Did you get an email confirming the booking?

Claire ;)
