Just had an email from Virgin FVC, I filled in questionaire, this was one of questions. I went for option 1, only one any use to me.

Which of the following potential benefit packages for FVC members would be most attractive to you?

OPTION 1
10% discount from all holidays

OPTION 2
5% discount from all holidays PLUS a choice of:
Free airport parking (16 days) OR
Free overnight hotel OR
Free chauffeur driven transfer to and from the airport
PLUS : Free use of V ROOM (our new departure lounge at Gatwick)

OPTION 3
5% discount
Holidays/Miles based on your spend. 2 holiday miles for every £1 spent. (A £6000 holiday would earn a single one way flight to New York)
Free use of V ROOM (our new departure lounge at Gatwick)

OPTION 4
Earn vouchers with a cash value based on spend. (5% of spend earned as a voucher)
A choice of Free airport parking (16 days) OR
Free overnight hotel OR
Free chauffeur driven transfer to and from the airport
PLUS : Free use of V ROOM (our new departure lounge at Gatwick)

OPTION 5
£100 off all premium economy return flight upgrades
Holidays/Miles based on your spend. 2 holiday miles for every £1 spent. (A £6000 holiday would earn a single one way flight to New York)
Free use of V ROOM (our new departure lounge at Gatwick)

OPTION 6
Holidays/Miles based on your spend. 2 holiday miles for every £1 spent. (A £6000 holiday would earn a single one way flight to New York)
PLUS A CHOICE OF:
Free airport parking (16 days) OR
Free overnight hotel OR
Free chauffeur driven transfer to and from the airport
PLUS: Free use of V ROOM (our new departure lounge at Gatwick)

I would agree with option 1.

We live less than 10minutes from Manchester Airport so have no use for the currant FVC benefits so even the miles would be better than what we can currently get. don't need airport car parking or overnight stay at a hotel, and a taxi to the airport only costs £10, £15 max depending on the time. (or we can get a lift from my Dad)

I received an e-mail aswell and also said option 1. 10% is worth more to me than the others.

Sam

Chauffeur driven transfers appeal. Driving home from Gatwick after a transatlantic flight is the worst part of the holiday. That, plus the 5% discount, plus the V-Room would be more financially beneficial to us than a 10% discount.

I received the email and went with option one.

This is despite receiving an email some time ago telling me I no longer qualified to be an FVC member !!

Although I think the chauffeur driven transfer is only for distances of 50 miles anything over that you have to pay!

I'd go for Option 1.

Claire ;)

I haven't had mine yet but will be a definite 'Option 1' voter. You have to read the small print with the other stuff on offer. Our 10% generally gets us a discount of 200-300 pounds. We would definitely lose out by taking 5% and any of the offers. We live more than 50 miles away from the airports used by VA so wouldn't get free transfers, I don't feel the need to spend the night before in a hotel when I live 45 mins away from the airport (and if I did you can get cheap internet deals anyway) the parking if I remember correctly is off site and you have to leave your car keys with them (personally I'd rather not). As for the V room that's all well and good, but if it's on offer to all FVC members it's gonna get REALLY busy and again it's not much of a benefit if I have to bear the time and expense of a two and a half hour drive to and from Gatwick when I live 45 mins from Manchester. Fingers crossed we keep our 10% :)

If VH can offer options for a survey, why not just offer options, period? :confused3

I don't know whats happening with VH, frequent Virgin, VA, Flying club. With lack of offers and cutting benefits I thought they were filling the seats without trying. Now they are asking our opinions:confused3
I guess my survey will just be deleted I told them exactly what I thought, planes need improving, so does food, some staff attitude, Too many problems with their Indian call centre. They never asked for half of what I put but I told them anyway.
I used to really enjoy flying Virgin and would pay a higher premium to do so, unfortunately not anymore.

Option 1 :thumbsup2

I did some pricing up, for a flydrive, next Aug and Virgin came out slightly less than many others :confused3
This isn't usual for VH - has anyone else found it to be so?

That included car ins too

Not a chance for us in August, flydrive without car ins £824pp:scared1: That incl discounts and 3% cashback thru Quidco.

I have booked thru VH for this Xmas, flight and hotel £580pp cheaper to take the hotel than do flydrive at £700 or flight only with VA at £900+

Never August though, couldn't pay £824 for a flight.

I've found a VH flydrive to be cheaper lots of times, Alison - especially if I'm flexible and mess around with the dates. That 10% discount (not to mention booking via Quidco) can make a difference... :goodvibes

Hmmm, can't really afford to go in Aug myself but Eve's school has really tightened up on the no time out of school hols policy.
Looked at Easter and that's even more pricey :scared1:
Christmas is a 'no no' as we 'need to be around family' (apparently  ) with Phil dying...........:upsidedow

Around £1700, inc insurance, (5% discount) for the two of us in Aug then I have Tesco club card deals and timeshare accommodation so we'll see :goodvibes

Think I'm going to wait and see whether, by some miracle, there's 'miles plus money' flights for Aug ;)

Thought I was going mad though when VH kept coming out cheaper

Gonna take a look at Quidco though now too.

This is of course a survey from Virgin Holidays so it is very unlikely they would have any input into the state of VA planes, flying club, staff attitude etc

I believe they are run totally separately with little or no operational contact between the two.

More than likely, not sure exactly what their marriage is. As I said it will probably just get deleted. The survey companies also will have nothing to do with either of the Virgin companies but it was an opportunity to have a moan at them as they were asking my opinions.
If VH customers are not happy with VA planes/service then its their reponsibilty to tell them.

DH hasn't had a survey yet, probably as he's only just qualified for FVC, but he'd vote for the first option too.

Although we now hire a private shuttle to travel up to Gatwick instead of taking our own car we live more than 50 miles away and I expect the difference that we would have to pay would end up being the same if not more. We're not interested in the airport hotel as we're a party of 5, bet we'd end up having to pay extra and we only like staying at the Sofitel or the Hilton and I bet they will put you up further afield.

So we'd only be interested in the 10%. Luckily we booked our next trip before we lost the Flying Club 10%. We also found VH package cheaper than Virgin flydrives and based on what VA were charging for flights this Christmas cheaper than flights only with them too.
