Just wondering if any of you have done the Virgin Fly-Drive package to Orlando. I noticed that it says none of the Florida Sales Tax is included in the package. The offer coverage for £126 for a weeks rental which is supposed to include insurances and taxes. Just wondering if it is cheaper to pay the car rental company upfront after when we return the car or pre-pay Virgin?

Thanks!

Hi,

We did a Florida flydrive with Virgin last year, do one again in a month and have already booked one for 2006. Last year we took the car with Virgin and wasn't impressed when I saw how much cheaper I could get the car through other web-sites.

This year and next year we'll just not collect the 'free' Virgin car. This year we've got the car through www.uscarhire.co.uk which saved us ££££ but we went for a full-size car for 3 weeks.

I would check out a couple of web-sites, like the one above or www.airline-network.co.uk, to see how the others compare. If there's not much in it I'd just pre-book with Virgin.

I dont think you can pay after you return the car and paying on arrival in Florida will probably be more expensive.

I think it depends upon your requirements. We need not one, but 2 child car seats & the virgin all inclusive includes this, but elsewhere you pay about $5/day/seat, so for us it is a better deal, however if we didn't need this, it would be more cost effective to book independently, but sometimes it's just convenience & we know where the desk is!
