What is the chance of booking MCO flights with Virgin in August with our Points?

There seems to be nothing available at the moment... do any of you seasoned VA travellers have any idea if we should just buy with money or wait to use our points?

We usually travel BA but DH's company have switched from BA to Virgin and so we have VA airmiles to use instead of BA... so its all a bit new to us! :)

Any help would be most appreciated! :)

Thanks

Sammie

I don't think they were relaesed till around christmas last year.I presume you mean M+M?I looked the other day for the 23rd and they were £508 per adult without M+M-still cheaper than VH though.Hope this helps:thumbsup2

I've booked our last two trip to MCO using VA frequent flyer miles plus taxes in July.
I've always booked them as soon as the flight become available as two separate single trips for us.
There's probably no need to do this but there is no down side that I can see.
August may be a bit busier but I assume there are the same amount of seats available for miles only trips.
Best phone them up or visit the website, provided they are not taken there is no reason not to get them.

It's a lot easier booking M&M for July. they usually don't release them for August until they have to, I believe they wait until they see how sales are going before they release them. For this August the first date they were available was 25th Dec.
There is a down side to booking M&M too early as I found out last Oct to LAX. cost me £375 +2000 miles instead of £575, 2 months later they reduced full fare to £340, between the 3 of us we could have saved £105 and been 39,000 miles better off. You win some you lose some I guess.

I was talking about using miles to cover the whole flight, not M+M flights.
I believe virgin set aside a certain amount of seats for this, not sure if the number is seasonal.

SammieG - do you mean M+M or miles only.

i just got 'free' tickets from KLM for a few weeks from now, but the taxes were outrageous....240 euros per person !!!!
not exactly 'free' by my definition...

Never seen a "free" seat for August, I don't think they offer any but maybe I have just missed them. If you look now outbound they are available upto 30th July but then nothing until into 5th Sept, for return flight nothing at all in August or Sept.

I know its crazy.
I booked for Easter This year, Full price almost £600. "Free" would have been £143 for taxes plus 50,000 miles. I did M&M £291 plus 2,000 miles
Would have cost me 144,000 extra miles to save £444 for 3 of us. Decided to save the miles for another time but M&M always seems better value.

i don't think KLM offers M&M....sounds like a great deal!!....

i had to use 50,000 miles for each of us for our 'free' seats...

however, i was surprised they had it available at such short notice...maybe because of those ridiculous taxes...

i was meaning just miles not M+M... but either is better than just money! :)

If you haven't created an online account yet with virgin, do it here.
http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/frequentflyer/index.jsp

Once you have created an account you can login and see what you can get for your miles, 50,000 for an economy return. It's simple to book also on the web if you want.
Either that or just phone virgin via the contact page on their website.
Use the appropriate red/silver/gold card phone number, it can get you better service.

Thinking about it we came back this year on the 1st Aug so there are miles only flights about.
We paid £376 in taxes going, £155 coming back for 4 of us so £132 return per person in July/Aug which is a decent saving.

Sorry to Hijack your thread:rolleyes: But does anyone know when VA will release there M+M fares for the end of october 2008:)
