VIRGIN Flights on sale for 2014, Flight v's Package

I am reading various threads and getting myself confused over when flights and packages are released so if anyone could tell me the answer to these questions I would be grateful ...

When do virgin flights only go on sale?
When do the virgin packages go on sale?

I hope this does not sound stupid because I know the earlier you book you can get a good deal but I can not decide whether it would be cheaper to do the flight or a package for 2014. My son is leaving school 2014 and with exams and the just not knowing dates it is bothering me we may not get to go next year and I am desperate for a Florida fix

I believe flights go on sale around 11 months in advance.

Also might aswell post this here. If anyone works for the NHS and is wanting to book with Virgin Holidays I found this 5% off voucher. Not sure if it works or not but might aswell try it.

As PP said Virgin Atlantic flights go on sale 11 months out and Virgin Holidays packages are on sale now,but don't bother booking a package until at least April as there are no deals out yet i.e. free dining.

Virgin packages are on sale now for some dates, but not all of them. We originally booked a package for October 2014, not realising that all their hotel and flight packages hadn't been released. We were told they get added in batches each month. I think all the Disney hotels were on there, but they only had a few options for their off site hotel options as you got further into the year.

I have found that Virgin Packages seem to work out cheaper the earlier you book, each time we booked around 15 months in advance and I think from looking about... strike while the iron is hot to get what you want, this seems the way to go. I wonder still whether I should wait and book flights and see if it works cheaper....where is the crystal ball?

Just been on the virgin site and they have some good prices....I have the problem of the just not knowing whats going to happen when my son leaves school next year or stays on ???? we really want to go and we have always fancied halloween and I figured no exams at this time of year (I think) he could be at college and then we will have school holidays anyway so we will prob be fine to get booked and take a few days either way from college/school.

I think we would def like to go in October 2014 previous visits have been March into April.....so now I am turning my reseach to weather crowds etch in October....
Flight or package????? aaahhhh
