Virgin flights for August 2013

Can anyone confirm when Virgin/Monarch etc release their flights for August 2013?

Can't help you with Monarch but Virgin and all other Scheduled carriers release 11 month from your return date, if you look on VA website now you can book your return date 10th March 2013, 11 months from now.
Saying that if you do book when they are released you will probably pay a premium, they know people are waiting to book so often charge a higher rate. Do you have any Virgin airmiles to use? they can reduce the cost sometimes.
Good luck finding what you want, never easy in the Summer hols.

i was hoping you would reply....when do you think it is best to hold on until inorder to get the best price?I know August is a nightmare but due to exams etc it is the only time we can go!should i wait until August to get a better deal???

There is no set date to book, its just a matter of being patient and booking when you are happy with a price.
The more flexible you are the more chance of finding lower prices.
With Virgin also consider London to Miami, BA London to Tampa, into MCO look at both BA & VA.
Flying Mon-Weds is sometimes cheaper than Thurs-Sun.
Consider indirect, most of our trips are indirect, we pay upto half of VA direct prices.
Main thing is be patient, don't just book first price you see, a better deal almost always turns up.
For next August I will start looking in Sept but won't be suprised if I don't book until Jan, Feb next year. There are always flights to Florida, they don't sell out.

No restrictions on dates but they are more dificult to use in school hols as everyone is looking to use them, as soon as they are released they get snapped up, about 3 years ago I searched every day(8, 9, 10 times a day) from Sept to Dec 25, I eventually booked Xmas day after I would guess 700-800 searches. They are not always easy to use.
2 main ways to use them:
1 Miles & Money if you don't have a lot of miles (2,000 required for an economy fare & money) these can save from about £50 upwards. I helped burt get PE Miles and Money for this August, he saved about £500pp (paid approx £700pp)
2 reward seats, use miles and pay for taxes, this is how we are doing it this August, flying out VA PE and return Delta Economy Comfort for £280pp

THanks so much Wayne thats brill, I like the idea of the above I think we should have enough saved through tesco and points from a previous trip, how much money do you have to have to put towards, like Burt we want to fly August next year??
