Virgin Flight Schedule Changes

I've just tried to log on to 'Manage My Flights' on Virgin Atlantic web site but couldn't because of a flight schedule change and had to contact VH for confirmation. Of course I'm now panicing. Anyway contacted VH, they confirmed new flight times & I was able to then log on VA.

We are going in July & new time is VS027 now going 11:15 (prev 10:45) & VS016 coming home now 19:25 (prev 20:05)

Just thought I'd let you know just in case anyone else has this problem.

I had this problem last year and have got the same problem this year. I haven't bothered contacting VH yet as I am waiting to see if and when they have the common courtesy to tell me my flight times have changed.

I know VS 27 moves between 10.45am and 11.15am on some brouchures and winter/summer. Also the return 28 changes between 17.50 and 18.10.

Thanks for the heads up. I just checked my summer flights and my las Vegas return flight time has changed too. Luckily only by 5 minutes though.

Thanks for the pointer. We had the same issues last year, and it seems we are having the same change again this year. Damn them for making me leave WDW 15mins earlier! :rotfl:

we got notice from thomas cook a couple of weeks ago telling us about our outbound schedule change, didn't mention return journey - guess i'll have to check

You'll be in for a long wait I suspect.

Personally I'd phone them to make sure they hadn't lost my seat reservations, high probability that it's OK, but that's just paranoid me ;)

I suspect that you'll have to end up doing it anyway so you can do OLCI.

Hi all,

Have the same issue on VA site. It does ask you to call for the changes! They should email people given all the other emails they send that are adverts.

Now i'll have to call VH and hang on.

I expect so too and the seat reservation thing is what made me crack last year. This year though I have decided to brave it out until beginning of April and see what happens. As you say sooner or later I will have to sort it so I can put in my API and do OLCI. It just really annoys me that they can code the website to lock you out when the flights change but can't code something that allows you to confirm online that you are aware of the flight changes and happy with them.

After the VA website let me in, I checked my seat allocations and they were still there, luckily, I would have been none too pleased if they weren't.

Just got off phone with VH for the fourth call. My previous three calls were transfderred to the dark zone where i was cut off or left silent. All this is soooo annoying when they answer your call quickly when booking but not when you have a problem. After all that, the VA site tells me my seats will be allocated on the day and i cant choose my seats!!!!????

Fat use all that was. Thanks Virgin.

After reading this thread, thought i'd check on this as we go in august and got the same message, phoned VH who said you can check your flights online, so i explained that it asks you to call to confirm the changes and that i couldn't access it because of this message, luckily i got through 1st time and i can now access my booking an the VA website.

I know it means another call but I'm sure if you call VA rather than VH they should be able to allocate your requested seats if they are still available.

When I tried booking our seats for 5 of us it wouldn't let me do on-line because I wanted 3 seats & then 2 behind, it would only let me choose seats in a line (i.e. 3 window & 2 middle)

Hope you get your seats. When are you going?

Other guys on the boards have been less than impressed at VA/VH customer service of late. I don't think it's purely foreign call centres but more the value they place on customer care after having your money.

I might seem negative but i'm a frequent flyer with them and use them almost always so i have a right to comment when they fall below the standard.

Why should i chase them up to receive a benefit i should automatically get? I wonder how much the 087 numbers cost us?

Cheers

Fair comment

Because you will be the one to ultimately lose out but it's your call (no pun intended :) )

Jakey thanks for the numbers. You're right, ultimately i would lose out but in my job, it's my duty to inform clients of the risks and benefits to allow them to act with informed knowledge. If i was paid and theresfter changed the procedure and didn't inform my client, well that client would hold me responsible. Virgin MUST have a duty to let me know that the terms of my booking have now changed and ask me if i wish to continue with the new terms. I'm not legal but feel sure that is the contractual case.

Please correct me if anyone here is legal.

I got the same message last weekend, so I phoned then, as I was in a panic.

There were problems with the website, I was told to go out of the Virgin website and then re-log in. I was then able to get in and our flight time was the same, as before.

Panic over
