Hi all, when I booked our oct trip I purposely booked the earliest flight going (10.30am) and the latest flight coming back (9.00pm) to give us as much hol time as poss, virgin then changed the flight coming back to approx 3 hrs earlier and now changed the flight going out an hour later, luckily we still have our seats we booked together on the way out but it won't let me check for coming back, I know it's not all dramatic but just annoying when I specially chose virgin and the flights I wanted and was looking forward to a full last day of our hols :sad2:

Anybody know why they do this?

If you are coming back 3 hours earlier it sounds like they cancelled the late flight.
Steve runs a merger/cancellation page here although not been updated for a few week.

Could possibly be a plane change on the way out. The new Airbus' need a longer flight time hence the 1030/1040 take off time as opposed to the 747 usual 1115. If so your arrival time into MCO should be relativly unchanged.

The return as Wayne says seems more fishy. That said the only time I have know a 9pm or 2055 to be is normally during daylight savings switch over which is around Oct time. I'm thinking they just switched you to the earlier 1730 ish flight? Possible they have cancelled the later VS16 due to loads but still a bit weird. I personally would call and see whats going on.

I didn't know about that, thanks Wayne, not long for you now! :thumbsup2

Hi, I might be wrong but I think both the morning flights are the A330 then the jumbo usually goes approx 1.30 ish? As you say it's only about an hour though so no major worries, coming back we were originally on the jumbo (was kind of looking forward to that one again lol)! As for the clocks changing I don't even know where to start with that, it throws me over here :rotfl2:

I thought (and I am a little rusty having flown BA the past year) apart from extreme peak times there is only the VS27 and the VS15 that leave per day the latter as you say being the afternoon flight. They have to have one 747 a day as the A330's don't have Upper Class.

Are you coming back on the A330 now? You may be more pleased about that because it should be the new aircrafts.

Daylight Savings time gets me everytime too. I am almost always confused but having flown may times on the switch over I know that that is when the super late flight back happens (the close to 9pm one). Otherwise the ''normal'' late flight back from MCO is the 1935 VS16 with the VS28 being around 6pm ish. The 28 seems to jump around from 1730 to 1815.

Have your flight numbers changed? That would give you the best indication of what happened.

Wayne........love the countdown! Have a great trip. :thumbsup2

We are now flying out on the Vs075 at 11.15 and flying back on the vs076 at 18.30 so I think they are both he A330, just would have been nice to spend the whole of the last day there but never mind! ;)

Totally crossed wires and completely my fault, my brain automatically thinks Gatwick!
Looking at your profile box you are Manchester which I know absolutely nothing about having never flown from there.
So sorry my dear.

Yeah I know what you mean about the last day but if you do have the A330's both ways that is apprently a much nicer way to travel. Again no personal experience just what I hear :thumbsup2

we had our flight changed with VA last time to Florida. Canx us from the earlier flight to the later one. No explanation given. I just thought they had maybe merged flights together for some reason but no the other flight still went earlier..rather annoyed at that! We have been at MCO before also where we were supposed tobe on the earlier one and they swapped us to the later one, but this time it was because they were merging the two flights together. Got a meal voucher and extra flying club points but would rather have known earlier and spent more time in the park.:confused3

I seem to remember this from last year, really annoying isn't it when you feel they are taking your 'holiday time' for no reason! :confused3

I got emails today too, changing both our departure and return flight times, plus changing the Airbus to the 747 on the way back.

I am FUMING

Had two e-mails today from Virgin telling me of my flight change both going out and coming back.

Not only have they changed the departure time going out they've changed the bloody aircraft:scared::scared:

After such an awful journey home on a 747 last year we swore we'd never fly on one again, guess what they've put us on - yes you've guessed it!!!! I wouldn't mind every other day either side of our departure has just had the time altered and not the aircraft so really can't understand why they've done this:(

Any suggestions :confused3:confused3

Sorry forgot to say it' s the VS075 from Manchester returning on the VS076
