Virgin flight cancellations

Scaremongering like that does not help the situation either

Gotta agree with Obi here, it's hardly scaremongering!!

I'm sure you're as aware as any on here of the panic that hit the boards over Christmas with the possible strike!! BA have not helped themselves in any way really in ensuring customer confidence :)

:goodvibes

The main thing that keeps us with Virgin is the MAN-MCO nonstop route!

In all honesty I don't think as an airline they're anything special! Tired old planes with tired old cabin crew is how I summed them up after our last trip :lmao:

:goodvibes

I think you just need a bit of luck with the cabin crew, when we were in the 'bubble' last year they were brilliant, though it is a totally different Premium Economy experience up there.
They weren't 'tired or old' either, quite the opposite if you know what I mean. ;)

We flew Virgin economy last year MAN - MCO and to be honest it was fine.

The food was "ok" but we'd had a decent breakfast before we left and had snacks in our bags.

The staff were fine but to be honest other than serving drinks or food I didn't really have any interaction with them.

I hadn't realised the entertainment was on a loop so made the mistake of watching a comedian which lasted 40 mins then realised all the films were halfway through so had to wait for the next loop.

As long as I get from A to B in one piece I'm easily pleased!

As someone who has close family employed by BA the feelings expressed by a certain amount of cabin crew are not shared across the company. I am flying virgin this year and have no alliance to ba (even though I agree with others that BA offers a better flight to Orlando. The loss of BA would result in less choice and competition for all which can't be a good thing.

I'm beginning to regret not booking BA for my next trip!

Two weeks ago I already had my suspicions about our booking on VS28 from Orlando on Friday 7th May because dummy bookings showed only VS16 available to LGW. This thread made me take a further look.

My booking still shows as being okay and at the Virgin call centre Deepika says my booking is fine but it's the VS16 that is no longer there :confused3

Just done another dummy booking and it still shows VS16 but not our flight of VS28. Grrrrrrrr .............

I understand the need for changes, I just want to actually know. (DS, DDIL and baby are on the MAN flight returning at a similar time to ours and the plan was to all travel to the airport together in same vehicle).

It doesn't instill confidence when the website and the call centre say different things :sad2:

We were on the VS16 and have been moved to the VS28 so I would think you will be ok.

I am fustrated as they have always cancelled the early flight which means getting there later but is also nice and you come later and this time they have cancelled the late flight meaning I lose 2 hours of park time on our last day :sad1:

7th may, only VS 28 into Gatwick availoable as a flight, but showing zero availability.

VS 76 & 74 both available with good availability into manchester

On same day, only VS27 out of Gatwick available, but good availability

7th May deffo only the VS28 and not the VS16 - I'm on the VS27 travelling that day from LGW :)

Yes, thank you both for your reassurances - I'm now finally convinced that my flight V28 on 7th May is the one which is okay. It may be full now, but I got the very seats I wanted upstairs in the bubble when I booked back in December (fingers crossed here that they remain 'mine'!) so all is well :thumbsup2

Hopefully see you up there! DH has a seat up there but at the moment me & DD are seatless - Am hoping for a bulkhead!

:wizard: Good luck with getting the bulkhead seats. See you then :thumbsup2

After trying to book my seats on virgin for the 25th September and coudln't get on i sent an e-mail to virgin to discover that the flight on the way out VS027 Had been cancelled and we had been moved to a flight 2 hours later VSO15 But the flight on way home is same time. I wouldn't have known unless i had e-mailed, no letter or anything.
