Hi,
i've just tried to book seats online for our trip in aug and i can only book seats together on the way out and not back.
i'm travelling with a 11 y/o so want to be able to sit together.

have any of you ever been spilt up from your children and they have had to sit alone?

i assume they don't put all seats online so hope we are able to get them together at the airport!

any advice would be great
Thanks

yes, 40% or so are held for check in so I would check 24 hours before you fly on line and if no luick get to twilight check in.

You cant book any seats with Virgin, online it is only a request!, there is no guarentee you will get the eats you ask for anyway. personaly I wouldnt worry, get to DTD checkin early on your flight home day, Virgin wont sperate a family and a child so dont worry to much.

When booking our seats online I couldnt manage to seat us altogether, but could on the journey home. I wasn't happy with this, so as soon as I was able to 'check in' 24 hours before departure I checked again and found that there was 4 seats seated together. There was no problem then at the airport. We still had the seats we requested.
When flying with Delta in 2003 we were split up, Husband was sat with my eldest Daughter about 15 rows away. Apparently airlines will not split a family up meaning a child will have to sit on their own. A child will have to be seated with a parent or adult travelling in that party.
